You're not thinking of the right play UK. The play that Wolf got hurt on was a bad decision vs Seattle.

But late in the game vs Arizona with a chance to ice the game, Wolford scrambled on 3rd down, almost an identical situation as the Goff play. Wolf put his shoulder down and went through 2 defenders to get the first down and win the game.

He took a big hit but popped up fired up...and so was our entire team after the play. Goff could have done the same thing when he had the chance but chose to slide a yard short. Does that mean Goff isnt tough? No it doesn't. But I don't think he's an elite competitor..that's my only point.

We don't know.

But what we know is Snead/McVay have done nothing but praise and support him even through his bad and terrible games. Behind the scenes, something had to have drastically changed. Perhaps McVay is tired of taking the heat and tired of having to hold his hand with everything Goff does?

I don't know. I know we can say our OL isn't as great as 17 AND 18, and we don't have MVP Gurley or Cooks.. but even watching those games, the body language between Goff and McVay then and now is polar opposite. Even Goff on the field, his demeanor and body language is different. Like he isn't having as much fun or into it or something.

Before you ridicule me, no I don't completely buy into those party rumors.

And yes, I think Goff is very talented arm wise, but I feel his struggles are mental. He's got some of the best games I've seen as a QB and also some of the absolute worst.

It's such an odd, unique and really sad situation. Because I do like Goff as a dude and feel like he'd be a great dude to party with and hang with and whether he's a Ram or not, I want him to be successful.

I think Goff sliding a yard short and Wolford diving head first to get the first are two different moments in different games. They only compare due to superficial circumstances.

Also, I think a flag is thrown if Goff goes head first and is hurt, even as refs let Goff be hit in the face repeatedly this season (did he sleep with a Ref's wife or something???)

the speculation about Goff's preparation is just that... it doesn't help that it fits the narrative of why McVay switched on Goff so abruptly and in such an uncharacteristic fashion. It could be totally wrong and it's something else, entirely, but it fits.

However all this plays out, I'm looking forward to OTAs and having all of this behind us... one way or another.

This type of character assassination is just total nonsense. There are multiple articles about Goff workouts in each off season, how each season he's come to camp better, stronger. Dude plays in playoff games with a broken thumb that most said couldnt be done, would risk further injury etc.

McVay has done everything he can to try and help Goff, make things easier for Goff. For the money Goff is set to make, HE needs to take it to the next level.

Ice the game? Rams were up 11 with 3 minutes to go, Cards had no time outs left, and they hadnt a whiff of the endzone since the 1st Q. Look it was fun to watch, like 4th Q of a pre-season game, the backup QB making the most of his moment in the sun, but embellishing that play in to some sort of game winner is just ridiculous

Someone posted it earlier today but maybe the Detroit talks are more about driving up the price for Stafford because we know SF is interested. Or the talks are about sending Goff to Detroit.

Because I have a feeling we're going all in for Watson. Doesn't make sense to trade Goff and enter next year with Stafford

I told you I read it somewhere, and don't remember where. Why? Because there's a million links on the internet. And frankly I'm not going to waste my time searching for a rumor that I read a ways back, because it is what it is, a rumor.

I've shared legitimate conversations in other posts about Goff WITHOUT some RUMOR I read, so you can search for those posts if you're feeling like it.

Arguing about Goff is similar to arguing politics, we can argue until we're blue in the face and none of us are changing our opinion.
