I'm thinking more and more that teams need to get the players in shape before putting them thru the paces.

I believe I see more severe injuries during training camp than the entire regular season.

Injuries still occur during games but it seems like the majority of them are 4 to 6 week injuries.

Players negotiated to not work so hard in OTAs and camp.

Yeah but teams could probably still get them working out a little during camp.
Maybe but only until somebody files a complaint. This is happening because the players wanted this kind of camp. Common sense told us soft tissue injuries would increase but until the next CBA this is the norm.

I would hope that players would want the next CBA to include a clause that an extra week of training would be provided with only fitness training. And it only needs to be 2 hours a day at most. Players should know that when a soft tissue injury occurs that likely marks the downgrade of their next contract or the end of their career.
