Given where the Rams are Right Now, could you see them releasing Colby Parkinson?

I can not.

So I HAVE TO WONDER about this Chris Wecht guy.
I'm thinking we put @RamFan503 and @den-the-coach on the case ... break-out the Big Guns.

What is the fascination with McCreary? Nothing against the guy, but his sample size and contributions were small.
Do the Rams really want to be moving around a proven commodity (and recently re-signed) Lake so McCreary can get onto the field?

Sure, if the price is right, bring him back; but he represents better depth and STs right now—not an answer to fielding a better 11 on defense.

I think they should extend Parkinson. He had a very good year by all accounts. He's young, and they don't have a lot of money tied up in the TE room. And if they extend him they could even reduce his cap hit this year. He is basically taking Higbee's place.
Parkinson has been the only reliable Ram TE we have right now and has already taken Higbee's place. And the way Ferguson looks it might take a couple of years for him.

After re-watching the NFC Championship a 2nd and 3rd time (that's it for me ... it is now deleted from my DVR ... still working on deleting it from my memory ... that will take some time ... maybe more time than I have left) McCreary was one of the more impressive Rams' defensive players in that game. His tackling stood-out.

I agree:

I would invest more time in McCreary.... He is a good tackler, but so-so in coverage.

I think the Rams current CB group will improve to be above the middle of the pack in the NFL. The longer a defensive group can stay together the better they become.

The Rams got knocked off kilter a bit when Adams and Lake went down, and they just didn't recover all the way back. Other than the Cardinals game it seemed the Rams were playing in quicksand in spots.

2026 CBs:
McCreary or Durant
FA Dean or Watson
Forbes
R1 Draft pick
R6 Draft pick

Hope the Rams extend Higbee. Would be terrible to see him end up on the Cardinals teaming up with McBride. Let's hope that doesn't happen

I don't.

I like him, but he's like an unreliable sports car.... When it's running all is gravy, when it's not it sits in the garage leaving oil spots all over the pavement.

2025
Hunter was hurt and used mainly as a WR
Jahdae Barron played all 17 games started 5

2024
Quinyon Mitchell played and started 16 games DROY
Terrion Arnold played in 16 started 15
Nate Wiggins played 15 and started 6 games

2023
Devon Witherspoon played in 14 games started 13 Pro Bowl and 4th in DROY
Forbes even as a bust played 14 started 6
Christian Gonzalez played and started 4 games then dislocated his shoulder and missed the year.
Played and started 15 games and was probably his best year

2022
Even better with a DROY
Another that went on to be a DPOY
Also had Trent McDuffie started and played in 11 games missed 6 with a hamstring

Another myth debunked. Rookie CB's are just fine especially if you get the right one.

We can get the right one in FA..... But I don't think it's a need.... We can win a Super Bowl with what we have.... I think they will be a better group this season

I was also going to comment, but didnt want to take the bait. I guess Sauce Gardner & Cooper Dejean were bust picks. Lol

Can't wait to see these press conferences. Will probably be posted later today, or tomorrow at the latest.

I am not familiar with this Chris Wecht guy but the Parkinson comment is Really Bizarre to me.

...

Releasing Parkinson makes NO SENSE at all to me. He just turned 27 ... is an all-around-TE ... and an excellent fit with Ferguson and Allen for 2026.

Maybe I am the Dumb-Ass here (would Not be the 1st time).

I assumed this guy (Chris Wecht) was referring to press conferences McVay and Snead (together or apart) had given this week. And I was curious what they said ... particularly whether they said anything about Parkinson because I found Wecht's comment bizarre.

Now, I an wondering (guessing) if that was Wecht's take from the press conferences McVay and Snead had after the NFC Championship game. Having watched and listened to both, neither speculated about Parkinson's status ... making Wecht's comment baseless speculation that makes ZERO SENSE to any knowledgeable football fan who follows the Rams.

So, that would make me a Dumb-Ass; and Chris Wecht a Fucking Moron. Maybe he and I should hang-out.

I wasn't going to take the bait either but the amount of just bad takes get old sometimes. Ferguson looks lost and will take years to figure it out? Yeah ok

1st round CBs are usually the best CBs in the league. We so need a 1st round CB.

Yes there are busts but I would still take a shot at a 1st round CB.
Especially this year when we have 5 graded out as possible 1st round picks. Some of those are pushed up a little because of the lack of QB's but when you get down to like pick 25 it starts where you will sometimes take a guy some rate as 2nd rounders in the 1st because of need. And we all know teams have much different rankings and boards than we do or than the "experts" do.

Nothing is funnier than somebody getting upset because a guy they or their favorite "expert" had a ranked a round lower than we or another team took them in.

CB's out of college rarely do well their first year in the NFL. If we are looking to enhance the future, a QB is the right pick and or a center we can get ready in 2027.
Please do name a center worthy of our 1st round pick. Or a QB for that matter.

Give me Delane or McCoy.
