And I'll be the first one. When they sign Tutu to a 3 year extension on April 1st, folks are gonna go ballistic
Yeah I looked for it before posting that and found nothing. Can't wait to see these press conferences. Will probably be posted later today, or tomorrow at the latest.
I am not familiar with this Chris Wecht guy but the Parkinson comment is Really Bizarre to me.
Early in the Regular Season, I posted several times that both Darious Williams and Colby Parkinson were candidates to be released in 2026 for cap relief, as combined they represented almost an $18M cap hit but, if released, the Rams would save $14.5M against the 2026 cap.
Then Parkinson exploded, and became a primary weapon. So my opinion quickly changed; and, instead of thinking he would be released before the 2026 Season, I did not want the Rams to lose him even after 2026. Figured he would be a prime candidate for an off-season extension where the Rams could not only hold on to him for the next three years but also REDUCE his $9.1M cap hit in 2026.
Releasing Parkinson makes NO SENSE at all to me. He just turned 27 ... is an all-around-TE ... and an excellent fit with Ferguson and Allen for 2026.
The idea that Parkinson would be a 'cut candidate' as this guy Chris Wecht states, sounds Ridiculous to me.
I mean, like over-the-top ... Duane Valle Ridiculous.
As I recall, Aeneas Williams played safety for us at age 33.We've been discussing Ramsey as a safety for so long round here it feels like an urban legend.
But I agree. I've always appreciated Ramsey's physicality and how tenacious he is. What I don't like is his tendency to lay blame on others, but if he were to come in with the understanding of his role, and they were sure he could perform in that role, it's likely it would work out for us.
Given where the Rams are Right Now, could you see them releasing Colby Parkinson?Yeah I looked for it before posting that and found nothing.
I think they say he's a candidate just because of the salary. We all know he should be TE1 with Ferguson moved around.Another Point.
In #1, this guy Wecht writes they are moving-on from Atwell, in part, because of the 'shift to heavy personnel'
Then in #2, Wecht suggests 'Parkinson is a cut candidate'.
Colby Parkinson is a MAJOR PART OF THE SHIFT TO HEAVY PERSONNEL!!! ... FOR FUCK SAKE.
My initial thought was to wait and see what McVay and Snead say ... and how they word things.
Not going to wait. I am calling this Chris Wecht guy out before even viewing these press conferences.
Bring me his head!

Yes but is the 'they' McVay and Snead? I can't imagine that.I think they say he's a candidate just because of the salary. We all know he should be TE1 with Ferguson moved around.
No "football experts" like that guy in the tweet.Yes but is the 'they' McVay and Snead? I can't imagine that.
If it's this Chris Wecht guy's opinion ... I CAN imaging that.
If Wecht thinks releasing Parkinson makes sense, I think Wecht is fucking clueless.
By-the-way, I did a quick check, and Wecht is another former-PFF guy ... That is ALL I needed to know.
If only it worked that way in other fields and endeavors. No "football experts" like that guy in the tweet.
Agree. Edge dominance is a young man’s game.If they're not gonna pay Young then I wouldn't be paying Hendrickson either. This draft has so many good edges that it seems stupid to pay an older one.
I think they should extend Parkinson. He had a very good year by all accounts. He's young, and they don't have a lot of money tied up in the TE room. And if they extend him they could even reduce his cap hit this year. He is basically taking Higbee's place.Yes but is the 'they' McVay and Snead? I can't imagine that.

Both of the comments are bizarre. It’s obvious the Rams have already moved on from Atwell. Why in the world would McVay even have to address that in a press conference. And getting rid of Parkinson would require the Rams to either resign Higbee (which is risky, considering his durability) or go after another TE in FA (as I don’t see them using a draft pick for one in the first 3 rounds). Can't wait to see these press conferences. Will probably be posted later today, or tomorrow at the latest.
