What is posted on the internet lives forever.

I mean, the heights of arrogance you show is astounding.
YOU, tell me "you're a fan who can only stand good times" ?
Who do you think you are ? Trying to get into my head, well........... that is far above your ability.
See, I am actually the guy who loved the Rams so much that when they moved I paid 900$ for a DTV dish and put it on my roof myself. I have not missed a snap since and wore my LA RAMS t shirt once a week all though the 90s when they were the worst team in the NFL. We only got 1/2 the Rams games up here in The Real Nor Cal before DTV and I am a original, from the very start a DTV customer.
The only football memorabilia I have is a actual Rams practice ball from 92 with the "great" Robert Delpinio on it. Jerry Gray and Jackie Slater is on it too.
Actually, you are the one who seems to be a fair weather fan who only went all in once the Rams sold out and got the Super Bowl win. ALL my NFL Sundays revolve around the Rams no matter how good or bad they are.
The facts of the matter are, time will tell on the sellout. We are out of the playoffs this year and if we do not get back to deep playoff runs while Donald and Stafford are still playing its up for debate.
Your side of the argument sure hinges on what Goff does the rest of his career and right now he is playing as good as any QB in the NFL.
Lol..
Yep.. I absolutely do not plan my day around the Rams game when they're losing. But I'm still watching the game and still support what they're doing as an organization and still, 100% am happy with how they pursued a championship.

I'm so excited for you and your "commitment" and am sorry that you're unable to appreciate the team getting a championship. Sad for you.

All my Sundays have NEVER revolve only around the Rams. Simply not enough hours in the week to make something that's not my family that much of a priority. Just my world view.

My side of the argument hinges on whether the Rams won a Super Bowl. They did.
Goff is playing as well as he has and I'm happy for him. The team-building model that allows him to be successful is something it would take the Rams years to get back to.. years they don't have with Kupp, Donald and Ramsey.

Again... Championships are the measure and the goal. There are many measures to success, but finishing the season with the Lombardi trophy in hand is the ultimate success.

i agree with what you are saying but i wonder if we have four or five years of below five hundred how many posters won't think those trades were that great. anyway, i hope we are back to those winning ways next year and we make the play offs 4 out of 5 years than i will completely agree that those trade Were worth it.

They're worth it to me, right now.
If the Rams hadn't had an absolute rash of injuries.. would they be looking at a losing season? Probably not. Would this team be in the running for the Super Bowl? Hard to say, because we don't know what kind of trade they might have made if they really thought they had a shot at the Super Bowl.

Robinson is still the Rams coach with the most wins. He finally understood his student body right-left would only go so far.
Got Everett and Zampeze , traded Dickerson..................and blew the picks.
The moment of the trade, I remember it like my parents did JFK, the spot I was at when I heard it come over the radio. That is when I found out about John Shaw's existence. My disdain started there.
That O line was so good Greg Bell had a thousand yard season and Charles White had two and made All Pro one year.
If the Rams had the threat of Dickerson to go with Ellard and Flipper defenses would have had the ultimate pick your poison.
And the Niners might not have had so many rings.

Maybe not ? Was it actually a 3 team trade ? Wonder off hand how The Rams got Bell & that rookie Penn St. LBEr. The Bills got the better LBEr.

No. The Rams replaced Chuck Knox with George Allen in 1978.

Allen didn't make it out of Pre-Season; and was replaced by Ray Malavasi.

Bill Walsh became the 49ers' head coach in 1979.

John Robinson did not come-on-board with the Rams until 1983.
That was all crazy & so many changes. The Hags,LA OC?

When there was a press report that Georgia was impressed with Dieter Brock's biceps , well that was a bad sign for our future.
There were a lot of rumors about ownership & players.Sort of came with the territory though.Nit sure any of them were true.

How cool would have that been ?
The Rams went with John Robinson I believe, but not sure what year that interview was? 1978. Ronny Lott would have been a nice pick.
The Rams went with George Allen Part 2. He was fired in preseason for over working the players. Then Ray Malavasi took over abd they went to the SB in 79'

We are not being a fair weather fans, just understanding the situation. The Rams started 14 diff OL this yr and 14 diff OL combos. That is unprecedented and quite insane.

No team survives that because no starting QB survives that. No team can compete offensively under those circumstances. Add in a shortend offseason, a beat up team, and a typical SB hangover. So it's just an odd year.

So I don't see this yr as an indication of future success or failure. I believe they will use this extended offseason to fix a lot of issues and tweak their approach where needed.

Yup.

Essentially... how do yo make this year some kind of referendum on the entire program? That's just silly.

Does that mean that they didn't make mistakes or can't do some things better? OF COURSE NOT.

I am going to bow out for the night. I am at work and recording the game and if I hang around here too much tonight I just might find out who won.
Right now I have no idea.
