And neither can run. Monken likes the running qb
They’ll wait until ‘27 for their next drafted QB when they’re finally done with the Watson contract
I mean more than half his time and success in the NFL was with Jameis Winston, Baker Mayfield and Ryan Fitzmagic - not exactly the mobility boys.

The Browns are the massive pile of shit in the early going of every draft that the top ranked dudes pray they don't step in.

It's tiring as all hell to see those fuckers at the top of every draft, in that upper range. And yeah, they'll be there again next year and one of these young QBs will have shit squeezing out between their toes on draft night.

Mendoza's been a lock for a while I think. Only way that wasn't gonna happen is if teams found a medical issue or some sort of red flag somewhere.
I think a few teams may have been tempted by Dante Moore if he came out. But yeah when he went back the first pick has been locked in.

Yes

And somehow he likes Mr Average Klubnik haha
I'm not gonna speak for him but I do think I understand that one.

Klubnik supposedly represents good value and he'd be drafting him as QB2. Simpson would be for QB1 and bad value.

I just don't know why Simpson cant be a legit QB1.

You guys see something I didn't see in him watching every game is all I'll keep saying.

I know you don't like Simpson much, but in simple terms, what is it that you feel he's deficient in? His head, his arm, his legs?

Yes

I see Simpson as a midround value. But he's been paraded around by the fucking media as some first round value. So I push back on that, and I think there's a lot of reasons to back that up. Small sample size. Lot of years on the bench alluding to lack of compete. Small frame. Enough arm. Not particularly athletic.

I see Mr. Average Klubnik as a midround value. But he has not been paraded around by the fucking media as some first round value. Bigger sample size. He's bigger than Simpson. He feels the rush better than Simpson. He makes defenders miss in the pocket more than Simpson. Enough arm. He is more athletic than Simpson.

This stuff is on film. I'm not making it up. Do any teams agree with me? Probably not. Feels like there's this love of Simpson when he's basically in the same group as Klubnik, Nussmeier, etc.

So it's not that I love Klubnik. Rather that I think he's the best fit for McVay from among those middling QB2 types.

No way we draft Simpson or a QB high IMO. McVay respects Stafford too much to not maximize this window and provide as much support as possible for him this year. Maybe mid-to-late we take a flier but first 2-3 picks I think very low probability, regardless of what outside analysts might think.

I like Simpson quite a lot - as a 3rd or 4th rounder.

As a 1st (or even 13 overall) - ehhhhhh

Luckily, we have one of the most competent (maybe THE most) front offices and HC in the NFL. I have no worries with whatever they decide to do here. Enjoying the ride

Lol, what?
So you're saying its a better indicator of performance against the lowest level of competition? Good grief. Bennett was disappointing in that game and got let off the hook by getting a miracle 2nd chance. Was fun to watch, but folks got to be honest about what he is
Alas, it all works itself out

Btw, Bennett DID actually play with starters in that 1st half, Corum, Xavier Smith, Mumpfield etc
Like Bennet, but won't say he's a good QB, (or even a good back-up) - I would however like to see him play in a real game.

I also think you're reaching a bit calling Corum, Smith and Mumfield "starters".
Maybe, but even if so....just barely.

Fair enough, significant contributors maybe? Corum was seeing 30-40% of the snaps, Smith 35-50%, Mumpfield 40-45% so it would seem disingenuous to call them bench guys

If that's the case, I stand corrected.
So..(I'm old AF and so's my memory), I figured you were talking preseason. But even if, that's still way more snaps than i would have thought. Still want to see him against live bullets.

When I look at Perkins, Wolford and even Mannion, no comparison imo, (obviously not including Jimmy G). :clinkingbeer:

One thing is sure is that with all the clamor over the Rams possible selection of Simpson at #13 means it won't happen. Especially with some talking head predicting it.
