There is a better chance that Patrick Mahomes demands a trade to the Rams than the Giants trading the number 3 pick for a QB that has 2-3 years left.

Maybe Stafford ends up on the Giants (highly highly unlikely), but if he does, it’s not gonna be for the 3rd pick. It will be for two 3rds and a 4th or something similar.
Well, if Daboll and Shoen want to save their jobs then they do what it takes to get Stafford. He gives them a bigger upgrade than any player they pick at 3.

Plus, the Rams traded Goff, a third round pick and two firsts in order to get Stafford. That’s equal to at least three firsts. If they trade him now that would be 3 firsts round picks for only 4 years of Stafford.

So one first round pick for 2-3 years of Stafford is reasonable.

How about this years Giants second round pick, plus next years first round pick. Thats equal to two second round picks. But I’m not throwing in Jonah Jackson in that case.

The idea that Stafford is holding out for top dollar is the single most incorrect talking point I’ve seen about these negotiations. If you know someone that thinks Stafford would rather make $50M with the Giants than $40M with the Rams—guide that person to the nearest mental health facility.
Well, next year he certainly won't be making either from either team...

Adam Schefter has been adamant that there is absolutely zero chance the Giants trade the 3rd pick for Stafford.

He 100% floated the Stafford to NY rumors, but he also said if it came down to trading the 3rd pick there is no chance that the Giants make the deal.

There are exactly 3 options here.

1. Pay Stafford
2. Trade Stafford to a team of his choice for the best possible return
3. Stafford retires

There is absolutely zero chance that Stafford ends up in some random ass organization because that’s who offered Les the best deal. ZERO. Anyone telling you this is a plausible outcome is either a liar or a moron. No in between.
If Stafford wants a new contract to keep PLAYING FOOTBALL, then that means he doesn’t want to RETIRE.

So there are realistically two options, sign a contract or get traded.

Fine, then he will retire. It’s that simple.

The Rams either offer him a contract worthy of a top 10 QB, or they trade him to a team of his liking that will do the same, or he retires. Those are literally the only 3 options.

Never take anything these guys report as gospel. If you were the Giants, you wouldn’t say anything else. They don’t want the Rams to know that they’d go that far.

Think of it like poker, or a game of chicken. If you play chicken do you immediately veer?

Nope. Not even close.

Stafford will either play for a team that has a chance to contend or he will retire. The idea that Stafford would happily play for anyone that pays him is incorrrect.

That's actually what I said. I don't think you comprehended it.

Again….there is a better chance that Sean McVay retires than the Giants trading the 3rd pick for 1-2 years of Stafford. Stop thinking about this as a Rams fan. Think about it as a GM for the team making the deal.

As another long time Rams fan for 56 years, I can't believe you are saying that. There is NO guarantee that getting rid of an inconvenient Rams Super Bowl winning QB for a bridge QB will take you anywhere but off the end of a chasm. As a long time Rams fan having suffered the long string of bad QB's, I would sell the farm for possibly two more Super Bowl winning seasons with Matthew Freakin Stafford. Jimmy G and his kind will lead us nowhere but to mediocrity. Why risk having the shyte show starting two years earlier than it had to because we are annoyed with Stafford's manager??
Taking into account that Stafford could up and retire after this season and leave us high and dry (not to mention a ton of dead cap as well, cuz why not have retired players count AGAINST the cap)? I hate living with that uncertainty as well. IF we can get a good trade in return, personally, I think it puts the Rams in a better position for the next 10 years. But yeah, not this next season.

I don't want to be in a shit show next season.

Reading comprehension man: you referenced him making 50 mil with giants and 40 mil with Rams. I said he wouldn't be making either from either team because his price for everyone will be north of 50 mil. Sheesh.
Reading comprehension man….look into it. I was simply pointing out that the number is not Stafford’s top priority. The $40M and $50M were merely placeholders.

The larger point is that Stafford isn’t holding out for the highest number.

2. Trade Stafford to the 2-3 teams he approves
3. Stafford retires.

These are the only 3 options on the table. If there is a Rams fan telling you that Snead could deal Stafford for a haul from Cleveland or Tennessee or New Orleans or Las Vegas—that person is a liar. Do not believe them.

That’s exactly what I’m doing. Daboll and Shoen will be out of a job if they don’t produce a winning season. They may never get another Head Coach or GM job again. Stafford will get them a winning season or two and likely gets their contracts extended. It’s one draft pick. It’s not an entire draft and the QBs in this draft aren’t looking worthy of being picked top three.

Name one player in this draft that the Giants can use that third pick on that can help Shorn and Daboll keep their job.

Dude, you are so entrenched in saying he'll just retire and then told someome to sit out cuz they are embarrassing themselves? Maybe take your own advice on that one. You are so lost on this one, I'm literally lmao at all your posts. I appreciate the entertaining comments tho.
