No idea. Only team I can think of here is Pittsburgh, who fits almost everything I'd look for if I was Stafford. But I don't profess to know what they're willing to pay. Only that they have gone through shit QBs and found out the hard way that you can piss away tons of money with those guys and not have a snowball's chance in hell of contending.

Way the Rams are playing this, just as I read it from the outside here, seems pretty damn smart to me. Stan probably said "get fucked I'm not paying more" or Stafford's team wanted more than Stan was willing to do. So now Stafford can find out his market value, and teams have been notified the price will be high. I think it's a good play for the situation.
Is this a Kroenke decision or a salary cap decision?

Looks like the Rams are just not that serious about winning anymore. Letting Stafford go is a fucking catastrophe and you bastids are all excited about a next to worthless #3 over all pick that won't do shyte about getting a franchise QB. Wake me up in 20 years when we're competitive again...

A number three pick that could be traded for picks next year, that could help them land a college QB.

But don’t misunderstand this trade talk as being desire. I think everyone of us aside from maybe @Memphis Ram wants the Rams to get a deal done with Stafford and keep competing.

And the team that offers the best deal will be the team who perceives Stafford to have the most value. Which will inevitably be a team that has sat down with him, looked him in the eye, have agreed on contract value, and both sides are eager to work together to go win games.
Wrong. Stafford has nothing to do with it.
It’s really simple, and I don’t know why folks need to make more out of it.
There are only a handful of teams who would trade for a 37 year old QB and pay him top $$. That team would feel he would put them over the top.
It’s that simple. You aren’t building a team around a guy with only 2 years left.

The Rams didn’t give the Lions the best offer for Stafford. All the reporting said Washington and Carolina had stronger offers, but the Lions worked with Stafford to get him where he wanted to go.

That is 100000000% how it will work this time around too. That’s how these things go. I’m still holding out hope we work something out with him, but don’t blame Snead when the “haul” is a 3rd and 4th round pick.

LOL this is absolutely fan fiction. You can say it as much as you want, it doesn’t make it true. I cannot believe people believe this. It’s insane.
It is 100% true.
If Cleveland offers their 1st round pick and Pittsburgh offers their 2nd rounder, there isn’t a world where the Rams don’t send him to the Browns.

Ok you seriously need to take a step back.
You don’t know the difference between the 2 situations? Cmon man.
Detroit was going nowhere and he asked to be traded to a competitor.

LOLOL bro you are totally clueless about how these things work. Like you aren’t even in the stratosphere of understanding how this process goes.

If Stafford accepts a trade to the Browns, I’ll CashApp you $5k.

I think there's plenty reason for hope, a deal with Stafford most likely gets done.

You and your pathetic bets.
You can’t comprehend factual statements because they don’t align with your childish thoughts.
Good lord. I actually feel sorry for you that you’re so delusional about this

Yes, absolutely. This isn't signing Aaron Donald to his 2nd or 3rd contract here where you're gonna sign him almost no matter what. This is an aging vet who's got 1-2 years of strong production ahead of him most likely.

The difference here is, the Rams have a number/numbers that they won't budge from for their team build going forward. If Stafford wants more they'll move on. But it's not like it's a big chance. A chance, just not a big chance.
Yeah exactly. It feels like they aren't bluffing on their position.

What factual statements?? LOL. Are you 7 years old??? Did you *just* start following this sport?

There is a better chance of McVay retiring this offseason than Stafford winding up in Cleveland or Tennessee.

It only moves the needle for me because you don't see it much. I can't think of many examples where teams felt the need to do this. Brandon Aiyuk, but he was very close to being traded. I hear you though. They clearly want to get an extension done.
Correct. The closest approximation for the Rams to this situation is when they've said they will let a free agent test the market to gauge his value. It feels like about 80-90% of the time they opt for this tactic, that player is gone.

Correct. And I'll add: that team and Stafford will feel they can be competitive with his addition.

I'll hold it against Snead if he doesn't pay Stafford what he wants, even if it costs us good players down the line. You have nothing without a franchise QB. Absolutely nothing.

You're under the impression he has a no trade clause? If the Rams trade him the only choice he has is if he signs a new contract with that team nor not.
