If they are delivering what you want to see, then congrats. Scratch him off your draft list with vengeance and have fun with that. I just completely disagree with this sentiment that he's poor under pressure when the dude routinely dealt with shit and produced good result. It is just a damn shame he's in that system. Though maybe not a shame because instead of going to some shit team at the top maybe he lands in a good situation instead.
jeeeeze

I'm gonna try to finish watching Ole Miss/ Florida and the Georgia game and see if I feel any differently. Maybe it's worth watching him play?? Sure seems like what they're saying fits what I'm seeing.

If Dart is in a system that generally doesn't produce quality NFL QBs, then I'd say pass. Mobility is awesome but if he can't progress thru reads, that's a huge red flag.

I'll say this... All his biggest games he played well in. And again nobody is saying he's a finished product. He's a redshirt with the tools.

I don't call this playing well. I'm not against picking him but I wouldn't draft him earlier than maybe the 3rd. To me, he seems overrated. This QB class in total is lacking. The Rams should be drafting strong, deep positions vs reaching for a project QB in the early rounds.

Yeah, I think the general rules of QBs being overdrafted into the 1st round tend to fall off when the draft classes are really bad.

In the previous poor draft classes I mentioned many QBs didn't start going till the 2nd.

With inflation, I expect Dart to be a 2nd round pick but would not be surprised if he's low 2nd.

Imagine this Merlin going all in for Jaxson Dart but not a Pro style offense National Championship QB in JJ MCCarthy?:laugh1:

No but seriously I'm kinda of worried he played for a spread RPO offense in college. Not that it's impossible to have success in the NFL, but the top 5 QB's every year generally come from a NFL style offense.

If he goes in the 2nd, so be it. I'd rather it not be the Rams that draft him. I'm not a huge fan of reaching or hearing about "potential". Jason Smith had potential lol

I hate the offseason where these guys pump words like “ drop a bomb” nothing new with letting an agent reach out to determine what the market thinks your player is worth.

Can’t wait until the middle of march
Well letting his agent talk to other teams is definitely an interesting tidbit as that was never reported until now. Whether that leads to anything or is bombshell is definitely misleading. Bombshell is going to be when a decision is finally made. Just wondering what kinda interest Stafford will drum up now that his agent is going to have conversations with other teams. It's definitely a way of setting up how much faster things will go once a deal goes down one way or another.

I'm intrigued to see who has called. I'd imagine at least the Giants and Steelers. Maybe the raiders?

He is a third round talent because he will require a redshirt and has unknowns in learning a pro offense. For the millionth time it comes down to whether you think he's got the raw tools you want. If you don't think that, cool. We'll see how he plays in the pros and hopefully he goes somewhere like the Rams so he can redshirt.

Also if you want to evaluate him maybe watch a good string of games. This is 101 for developing a real feel for any player. I have often thought one thing about a player and saw him much differently after realizing he had other games than the ones I happened to catch.

McCarthy is a bitch ass who was carried to that championship. Dart actually has the raw skills like a pair of nuts in the pocket. :bullseye:

I still don't know how the fuck Dak Prescott got $60 million.

He is a decent QB who can't take the Cowboys the extra step.

And Lawrence should no way have gotten $55 M when he hasn't even taken the team to the playoffs.

These QB salaries are just so fucked up.
When you go to buy tickets for the next game you'll hate it even more. :crying:

Another article framed as a bilateral negotiation between Stafford and Rams (as if we have to meet another team's offer).

He's under contract for two more years. What another team might offer him doesn't take into account what it would cost that team to acquire him.

That takes a trilateral negotiation and those fall apart quickly when one party realizes they are getting the short end of the deal.

We get it, you got a hard on for the guy (nothing wrong with that by the way, we all do that) and you've mentioned him at every opportunity. I've actually watched his film, color me not impressed when you factor in the system he played in, the history of those QBs in the NFL, and that he seems to be a QB that has to see it open to throw it. I have zero reservations about drafting him but reaching in the 1st or 2nd rd (if we somehow get one via a trade or trade back in the draft) is not wise. There are much more talented players of need we can use in those rounds.
