I think it was originally but now Stafford is not so sure it's worth going to a losing situation. Will see if it's about the money if the Raiders are offering more with no state income tax.

Maybe it's not a losing situation.I think it was originally but now Stafford is not so sure it's worth going to a losing situation.
Not in that division.Maybe it's not a losing situation.
As I posted in another thread, along with no income tax the Raiders have the 2nd most cap space in the league, 10 draft choices, and a new HC who has had success in the NFL. They could possibly turn things around in one season just like Washington did last year.
And they've been giving KC problems even without good QB play.
McVay is definitely not Robert Saleh. Meaning Saleh had limited experience as a HC and was being pushed by the GM/Owner for Rodgers. Stan is not a clown owner like Woody.I think it's certainly possible, but i also think he could destroy the culture in the locker room.
I was accounting for teams being delusional. What matters is how the teams see themselves.
I definitely think that most teams are. Most head coaches have big egos and hate to admit defeat. Plus to some extent they have to go into every season believing they have a chance, or they cannot motivate their team. And we have seen some terrible teams turn around their fortunes very quickly, like the Commodes and GSOT.I was accounting for teams being delusional.
Well let's put it this way... Raiders for example have already said they are contending now. So even though we all know they're not a contender, if they build that belief system in-house it opens up value for Stafford as an option. To them. Which is all that matters.I was accounting for teams being delusional.
McVay always comments on Stafford’s emotional maturity. It will be Matthew’s decision to make and once he does I think he ends up being comfortable with it.I'd like to think he wouldn't come back disgruntled but IDK man. I don't like any of this.
I don't think McVay is ok with a disgruntled QB in 2025. Suspect they are ready to move on, assuming they get a compensation package they can live with.I'd like to think he wouldn't come back disgruntled but IDK man. I don't like any of this.
Stafford was a top 5 QB in 2023 and it was probably one of his best seasons as a QB.I will say, his regular season numbers are good but replaceable, and have been for a few years now.
What I find interesting this season is that if you wanted to maximize value return on an old gunslinger QB the offseason conditions you would want would include a shitty QB draft. So realistically this represents a spike on that timeline of where Stafford will have his most value before he retires.Ehh there this QB draft sucks and the free agents are meh.
We will prob be a .500 at best team for two years without a QB/
Not that simple in my mind.
I think 45-47 is a fair offer however.
Exactly. If he costs us Alaric, I’m not going to feel bad for him when he’s getting hammered all day from the left. It’ll be his bed he made. Not sure how effective Stafford will be with a journeyman or rookie LT, because him getting that kind of raise means Alaric Jackson is likly gone and no high priced offensive weapons or OTs will be coming here in FA.
So good luck Matt getting blown up from your blind side and looking out your ear hole.
