Laporta having an "outside shot" of playing feels like a smoke-screen/gamesmanship to me, but who knows. It's the playoffs. If he can suit up, rest assured he will. But that knee injury looked pretty bad. He thankfully avoided any major damage, suffering only a hyperextension. But hyperextended knees, like sprains, can vary significantly in how much down time is required depending on the severity. His did not look like kind that would leave a player capable of suiting up in 1 week. But time will tell.

Frankly, with how bad our coverage teams are on special teams, the injury to Kalif Raymond could be equally as impactful if he cannot go for the Lions. No idea who their backup returner is. They do have options. Lots of explosive players on that roster.

My guess is Craig Reynolds as kick returner and Donovan peoples Jones at punt returner. He's also a dangerous returner like Raymond

Seriously doubt Laporta will play. If he does he would be a liability out there.

Campbell looks like a Cro-Magnon man with his insistence on playing starters in that one.

Here are some interesting numbers…

Points/Game:
All games: 23.8
Games when Kyren Williams played: 27.5
Games when Kyren Williams AND Cooper Kupp played: 29.0

The Lions defense is good but hardly elite. If McVay can engineer an offensive shootout the Rams win this if they play a clean game.

Defensively, I think the Rams front 7 is better. In the secondary the Lions might have an edge but if they do it's not by much. Stafford, Kupp, Puka, and Williams will break Detroit's heart.

Then it will probably be back to Santa Clara. I can see the NFC Championship round played between the Rams and cowturds. But Dallas playing GB has all the trappings of a trap game for the turds who have a history of being upset in the playoffs. They haven't won a Super Bowl since 1996. IMO Jerry's teams are too uptight in the playoffs or too complacent. Last year they went 12-5 and lost in the wildcard round if I remember it correctly.

They have a tandem of quality RBs in Gibbs and Montgomery. St Brown is also a stud at WR.

*shrugs.... We've run on some pretty good defenses this year and I think we will run on this Lions' defense.

I think our running game will put up big numbers on the Lions D which will really stress their DB's as the LB's will be jumping on play action.

Stafford will not have a problem reading things with his experience...

Here is Lions defense showing Man-to-man look outside, maybe cover-1 maybe Cov-3
but they rotate to Tampa-2

Hopefully Rams can have answers

Rams do this a lot, overload front -- 3x1 and run various stunts

Lions have good OL and Dallas had good coverage but all 4
converge on Goff...

Wasn’t this also the official from the Rams-Ravens game who threw 0 holding flags? I hope he has a new umpire for the playoffs.

Interesting man to man look into Tampa 2

CB follows motion guy across, a man to man indicator but at the snap they rotate to Tampa-2 with the CB playing the hole

@JimY53 Are Lions fans frustrated with their DC? In some of the plays you have circled, the switch to Cover 2 protects deep routes, but allows all kinds of underneath yardage. There are opportunities for lots of 5-10 yard gimmes to a RB or shallow sideline throw.

This is like Raheem giving up the 5 yard gains with off man coverage.

Yeah, I don't know percentages but there is a lot of "Fire Aaron Glenn" out there, just like they was fire Spags out there until last year's SB win. But I say there is a lot of them frustrated with him.
