This comment just made me think of Everest. There are a couple hundred human popsicles littering Everest, many quite visible. The open air soylent green ice cream festival hasn't slowed the tourism as far as I know.

There have been over 200 climbing deaths at Everest and many of the bodies remain to serve as a grave reminder for those who follow.

Whether it's the high of Everest or the depths of the Titanic, such gruesome coffins will never fully dissuade people from trying, true. But I don't buy the shit that their sub
has to be recovered. Why put anyone else at risk for a sub that's likely imploded? Why spend so much to recover the corpses of five idiots - including an idiot who
knew the risks of cutting corners but did it anyway, and persuaded others to join him when a reporter exposed the absolute fuck out of the sub and how unsafe it was beforehand and when they probably should've regretted their life choice before getting into that sub (hell, I don't know much about submarines, engineering, and the like, and there's no way I would've gotten into the sub because of how unsafe it is) - when the whole Malaysian plane mystery received less attention with way more innocent people onboard who had no idea what was going to happen?
Yes, I realize that the passengers on that plane are long since dead and the plane's probably long gone, but where was the world's attention span on that when you compare it to these five idiots? They knew the risks, they failed to play it safe. The plane's passengers had no idea that they were on the path to death; they had no way to expect it, even with the risks of flying.
And if I sound harsh or if anyone wants to criticize me for being insensitive to the families? The families should realize that their now-deceased loved ones were idiots - and I have no time or patience for fools.
