Woody Hayes homer!Hamilton was very underrated at Ohio State, every time Hamilton was in, the DL seem to make an extraordinary play, whether it was against the run or aiding the pass rush.

Woody Hayes homer!
I remember watching that game and saying to my Dad at 16 years of age and not a Buckeye fan at that time, "He's Done, the old gray goose is dead."
I'm a bit older but had almost the same experience, watching that game with my father. We turned to each other and agreed that Woody was done.I remember watching that game and saying to my Dad at 16 years of age and not a Buckeye fan at that time, "He's Done, the old gray goose is dead."

Ferguson (2nd): I was so focused on another TE and the big two hyped as 1rst rounders, I didn’t even pay attention to Ferguson. I’m just glad the position was addressed earlier rather than later like the last time the Rams drafted a TE in a TE rich draft. This is a needed pick. Hope they grabbed the right guy. Cant wait to see him on the field.Sorted by thread replies:
261 - Terrance Ferguson, TE (2nd Round)
150 - Chris Paul Jr, LB (5th Round)
134 - Jarquez Hunter, RB (4th Round)
122 - Josaiah Stewart, Edge (3rd Round)
104 - Konata Mumpfield, WR (7th Round)
43 - Ty Hamilton, DT (5th Round)

I remember watching that as a kid also. Ugly behavior. I never liked Hayes or rooted for Ohio State because of this and the other incident when he grabbed a player (his own?) by the face mask and started screaming at him.I remember watching that game and saying to my Dad at 16 years of age and not a Buckeye fan at that time, "He's Done, the old gray goose is dead."
Ironically I never cared for Ohio State either because of Woody, but after spending almost ten years in Ohio & meeting coaches that coached under him & players that played for him, plus all he did for the University & the State I guess my perception changed.I remember watching that as a kid also. One of the Rams' greatest ever players, Orlando Pace, came from there.I never cared for Ohio State
I'm not much of a draftnik. Didn't know anything about any of these guys before the draft. So I rely on the post draft evaluations.
One thing I know, relying on rookies to make your team better is risky. Most of them need a couple years to be legit contributors if they are at all. I don't see any of them starters on day one.
...
Mumpfield and Hamilton? Well, they might enhance the practice squad unless they can show something on special teams. Expecting good things from late day 3 picks might be asking too much.

That was a long time ago, though.
This is the one I remember along with Knight throwing the chair (basketball). I knew both coaches were gone shortly after that. Keep in mind many coaches were doing ALMOST the same in that era. But those two incidents seemed over the top and my view was WTF! You still see some coaches grab face masks. And it seems those are the coaches losing control. I’m not sure you ever see that these days with a coach that is the head of a winning program.and the other incident when he grabbed a player (his own?) by the face mask and started screaming at him.
All 6 draft picks will make the team... small class, they will keep all 6 on the 53...even Mumpfield should make it unless Tru Edwards beats him out... although Smith likley goes to the PS then.I'm not much of a draftnik. These are guys they'll have for the next 4 years. Ferguson is the kind of tight end McVay covets for his offense. Might not see it this year but expectations are he'll be a contributing piece for a few years. The first pick in the McVay era was a playmaking tight end. Everett wasn't terrible but did not live up to expectations.
Stewart will likely be a part of the rotation although he won't see as many snaps as Verse and Young. That might change in a year or two. He fits the kind of player they like. Non stop motor who loves the game.
I have no idea if Hunter will eventually turn out like Kyren Williams or end up like Zach Evans. I don't expect to see much of him during the season unless there are injuries. He might be the kick return guy.
Some people think Chris Paul is steal. He plays a position the Rams defense doesn't typically rely on. Not sure he can beat out Reeder or Speights. He might be spending more time on special teams until he shows he can be more than that. If he can play like some think he can, it would sure help. Especially against the run.

"Shoulda trusted your initial instincts."Ironically I never cared for Ohio State either because of Woody, but after spending almost ten years in Ohio & meeting coaches that coached under him & players that played for him, plus all he did for the University & the State I guess my perception changed.
I was thinking specifically of reps behind Poona at NT.Don't forget about Tyler Davis and Desjuan Johnson. Might take a while for Hamilton to be acclimated to the NFL, so I expect those two - a second-year and third-year player - to take charge amongst the backups for D-line.
