I agree. Rams are gonna need to quit fucking around and draft one. And best place to find them is in the first round. Those dancing bear types don't last long. Speaking of which I don't know how strong next year's draft is projected to be at OT. Looks good at QB, maybe we'll get lucky and LT types will be well represented too.
Rams are a couple pieces away from building the perfect beast. A healthy Stafford (or young buck) at QB, a stud LOT and an alpha dog CB1. I’m looking at 2026 for that to happen but it could happen in 2025 with a little luck.

On the other hand AJackson as an example has proven to be a diamond in the rough and is not only a solid offensive OT, but a solid starter at left tackle. He’s definitely worth keeping, but he’s not the stud LOT that everyone on this forum wants long term.
I gotta disagree on this part. If we're talking health then I'm with you, but if you're talking about performance, then I disagree that he's not a stud, long term LT.

PFF rated him last year as the 11th best LT.

In his contract season.

Like it or not some dudes drop off after being paid. Jackson we will see, however the truth is the dude almost immediately after signing re-developed a previous blood clot condition.

Coincidence? We will see.

My position is that you grossly overestimate the contract season thing.

He was improving over the years and performed fairly well in 2023, too. You know before contract season. I advocated and predicted they would extend him after that season despite getting much push back.

The blood clots are an obvious coincidence. The implication someone would knowingly develop a life-threatening condition just because they got paid is crazy.

That would be a silly implication. Mine is that maybe this has been something he's dealt with, on the downlow after that initial window the Rams knew about, because he knew he needed to earn that contract. Then once the contract is done, hey look it's back.

But as I also said we will see. I am not certain of this by any means, all I am observing is that it is a strange coincidence.

Well IMO - he reminds me of Alaric Jackson with better feet. That is based on a small sample size.My hope is he finds his way on the practice squad. Going to be some tough cuts
Agreed.....I think a lot of these can still have a future in the league for sure and I hope many of them make it to the PS.

Well, he did give the Rams a bit of a discount in terms of left tackle money. Maybe the blood clots were a part of the reason.

The deception on this implication would be troubling but it does have a silver lining.

If he indeed has been struggling with blood clots since their discovery in 2022, there's little cause for worry since he played well in 2023 and fantastic last year. Under this theory, blood clots are obviously less of an issue than anyone has thought.

What a conspiracist - lol

Mattew Stafford must have known as well.He started LIFTING furniture to move to Vegas & must have had a change of heart ?

At least he gave The Rams a hometown discount. He couldn’t tell anyone it was playing golf.
