Agreed. But can't this argument work both ways?

The coaches who see them both in practice have decided to give KW over 300 snaps this year and give relatively few to Corum.
I am not talking about this year. Talking about the track of Corum going forward into 2026.

Kyren sat a lot his rookie year even when he wasn't hurt. It's what rookies do. My point is what they see or don't see in Corum, will likley will decide Williams Rams future.

Kyren missed all of training camp and pre-season as a rookie. And not to mention that was the shit show of 2022 with the Henderson/Akers drama, the revolving door on the o-line and a self admitted loss of Focus by McVay. To compare Corum’s year to that is akin to comparing an apple to a polar bear

And Williams wasn't sitting behind an established guy like Corum is now. You said so yourself the shit show that was getting snaps ahead of him. So yeah, apples and airplanes.

All of that doesn't discount the obvious here and that is whether they think their 3rd rd RB and his projected future and what he has displayed to them in practice everyday, will be a better alternative than giving Williams a big contract.

Am I the only one that thinks the reason Corum hasn't seen many snaps is bc they are not planning on extending Williams and using him as much as they can bc his future here doesn't matter?

Not alone in that thought. Makes sense to give Corum some work after a busy college season while you use the work horse before you let him go.

I don't know. I feel most of us expected Corum to play more this year. I'm not ready to blame his lack of touches solely on him being a rookie. Time will tell.

100% agree with your last sentence. We'll probably have an idea of their thoughts this off-season.

Bingo... that is my thinking.

McVay plays who he thinks gives his team the best chance to win. No matter what he thinks he might do leading up to it, he will always fall back to what he is most comfortable with. Rookie running backs are not on that list. Little WRs that might tip the type of play he is calling, not on the list.

I've finally come to a real conclusion for me.. I would not re-sign him.
He's great at what he does.. but I think the lack of explosiveness makes it unwise to re-sign him. Let's see more of Corum next year.. and draft another RB.. but make sure it's someone with speed.

He didnt have a fumble yesterday

He had some very close calls. And actually he did fumble on one play but Puka recovered it. It showed it on replay but he was ruled down. Either way he did technically fumble once.

He fumbled once and puka recovered it.

He then was about an inch from another fumble - vikings challenged and lost.

Like i said - fumbly.
Neither was a fumble. Not even close. I guess Stafford fumbled too?
