Great interview as always. Was waiting for them to ask if he needed McVay to tell him what do in the headset before the 15 sec cut off.

I saw Campbell hyping Reynolds the other day, maybe he and Goff are coming into their own. It just took longer than anyone expected.

I think a lot of that was the complexity of McVays offense and Jared's age and experience. He went from a "middle school offense" under Boras to one of the best offenses in the league and had immediate success. Goff was only 24 when he took us to the Superbowl. I think maybe he wasn't picking things up as quickly as he should, so he forever had training wheels under McVay. I could be way off base, just my opinion.

I really hope Goff turns things around with the Lions. I'll still root for him on most Sundays.

I do think Detroit tears up Philly on opening day. The Lions probably played their worst game last yr in a blowout to Philly. Campbell must be beating that into their heads during camp, prepping for that hone opener. And reports out of Philly have been about a lackluster offense in camp and practices of less than an hour daily.

Philly wins easily

I agree. Lions will tear them up opening day. Lions O Line will dominate and they will run all over Philly

The Lions didn't quit on Campbell last year. They played really hard for him and Goff. looking forward to seeing what Goff can do this year to get them over the hump or at least approach the hump.

If there was an under/over in 3 years that Goff is a backup QB in the NFL, I'd wager under.

over/under 5 years that he's out of the league, again under.

if he gets his head right, he's a starter for the next 7+ years.

Agree with your first 2 over/unders. But not the premise of the 3rd. Personally, I don't believe it's a matter of Goff getting his head right, I think Goff has slow processing speed. This combined with below- average athleticism and you have a Quarterback that can't quite cut it when it's all said and done. Just my opinion, and I know some folks on here love him

is austin blythe his center? then yes, this could happen.

but seeing blythe is nowhere near him and he actually has some good wrs to throw to this season i believe he will have a great season and the lions will back him as their qb.

I see some crappy QBs in this league as back-ups for years. And Goff is a lot better than these back-ups.

So at worst Goff will be a back-up for quite awhile as long as he doesn't mind being a back-up.

However, I think this year with good receivers and a good offensive line, he will surprise people.

The Lion defense, on the other hand, is still worrisome. I like Hutchinson but it takes more than one player.

7-10 this year.

Lions defense is bad but they'll play hard for Campbell so that'll give them an edge at times. Offense is looking pretty good and could surprise. Their schedule is not too bad with games against Bears x2, Commodes, Seahawks, Giants, Jaguars, Jets, and Panthers who might all be pretty bad depending on a few variables. Unfortunately the Vikings and Packers should be vying for the division but I wouldn't count out the Lions if the injury gods favor them over other teams for a change.

you're likely correct—i wouldnt be surprised.

and yes, any negative view of goff gets a specific group riled up on this board. and it's an exponential deluge if you are critical of any current ram, and off the charts if it's a fan fave. fuses get blown.

thank buddah for the stones at coach, front office and ownership to make the qb change.

blaming his center? yikes. goff gets hall passes left and right by some.

i'd make a friendly wager to donate to a charity about him having a great season. we select parameters and winner picks charity.
