IMO the defense eats this year with or without him. Rather not take on more salary or give up more picks.

Let’s roll
I feel the defense eats either way this year, too.

I think we're a top 10 defense now, which is very good. IMO, we'd be top 5 with him, which is great.

it depends if Darious Williams and/or Akhello fall off a cliff. These guys are no spring chickens. We could have used a pick on a corner imo. The front 7 is set.

Shula likes what he sees.He also addresses in a way what Ahkello meant to The Rams last season.

You look at his contract & and how he has played over his time as a Ram & it’s impressive. Ramsey imo is a loose cannon. He’s not an Aubrey guy if you ask me ? Then again He had a project that helped the community.IMO his heart has always been with The Rams, and his DB’s with the Lion’s seemed weak.

I’ve seen him with Talib & Peterson.Think Ramsey isn’t SO much of a fit ??? SO I’ll disagree that he would help all that much, especially for the cost & commitment.

Do you think The Rams want to F” Things Up ???

As much as I think I’m right I could be wrong.I know Q. Lake talked about Jalen Ramsey being welcomed to The Rams ?
He brings a lot to the table in what he can do in terms of his skill set. He’s not a pure CB,but can elevate this group. My biggest question is the cost(value).

If there is going to be a scoop I can guarantee that it wont be posted on Youtube before anyone else
They'll be easily 10-15 legit guys posting about it on -X- long before any youtube reel

This all strikes me as the OBJ talk. McVay said he’d love to have OBJ back but in the end, we didn’t do it and there’s really no indication they were even trying to make it happen. There was a lot of smoke then. There may be a little more with Ramsey. But here it is 3 days after the June 1st date and nothing. I’m guessing it doesn’t happen and probably hasn’t even really been in the works.

Part of me hopes we do it but at the same time, I don’t think it’s a ground breaking move - so….
Jourdan seems to think it’s still a possibility. She addressed it on the video posted on the Panthers thread.

At some point, Miami will release him........or take waaaay less than the market.
Ramsey has a rep and price tag that I’m guessing few NFL teams are willing to accommodate. Too many unknowns with his signing. McVay and the Rams have a unique perspective on Ramsey regarding the unknowns. I believe they are truly interested but only at a very specific cost ($$, contract terms, trade capital).

Anything is possible. Id hope if we trade for him it's with a reworked contract.
I'd sign up for Miami paying 5k of his bonus and then working with Ramsey after the year to redo that contract. He'd only cost 3-5 mill in CAP for '25 and about 10 mill of dead cap in '26 if he were to be released. No guaranteed $$ so Ramsey would surely be all ears
He has some bonuses that could add a couple mill in '25 but I'd be happy to pay out if he were able to hit these:
5 INTs: $300,000
5 INTs + Playoff Berth: $600,000
Pro Bowl: $300,000
Pro Bowl + Playoff Berth: $600,000
1st Team All-Pro: $400,000
1st Team All-Pro + Playoff Berth: $800,000
1st Team All-Pro + Super Bowl Win: $1.3M

I read an article that had reporters suggesting trade values for him. The highest pick was 4th round from the Panthers. If he has a no trade I doubt he’d say yes.

One had the Rams giving a 5&6

One had the Dolphins only getting a 7th.

So it seems the media agrees that he shouldn’t garner a day two pick.

It likely depends on what $ Miami is willing to eat obviously

The difference between releasing him and trading him is 20 mill of dead cap space.
Miami can play hardball all they want but they will have to come to the table willing to pay down some of that deal.
Even if they kick in 10 mill they'd be 10 mill ahead of a release and getting some value out of it

One somewhat of a factor in all this is, if Ramsey wants another ring he needs to go to the Rams. What other options does he have to go to a team with a shot at the Super Bowl this coming season that's as good or better than the Rams chances? I don't see that with any other teams that could use Ramsey.

So, maybe this factors in a bit...

There's no trade that will happen where it makes sense. The Fins own a 20mil dead money cap hit, and even if they covered say half of that it still doesn't make sense, because the other team will have to offer something in return. He'll either be restructured or released, my bet is he'll be released.

Not sure what he's worth on the open market. His play isn't great anymore, while he's still solid, he doesn't offer much in the way of being a major difference maker and if you're paying over 10mil for a going to be 32 year old CB you want a difference maker at that price tag.

I think he'll sign somewhere that is desperate for a #2 CB. I doubt it will be the rams.

Anyone know what a middle of the road aging CB is worth on the open market?

Ramsey is 30, not 32.

From Miami's standpoint, why would they rather eat the entire $20m dead cap hit and no value back instead of eating a smaller number in trade while getting value back?

Not getting that logic.

People go back and forth on what the Dolphins want and what an acquiring team will pay (both money and draft picks), but often leave out Ramsey. He is just as important. Does he want MORE guaranteed money? Will he restructure (highly doubt it). I think the whole ‘wanting another chance at a Super Bowl so will take less’ is fantasy.

Nobody knows why their relationship dissolved, but I think it was Ramsey wanting more guarantees and none of us know what he will demand or not demand from a new team. Seems likely he would be more flexible with the Rams, but how much more? In other words, Rams have to negotiate with two parties, not just the Dolphins.

Because you need a trade partner which they obviously don't have

Yes going to be 31

Got it. I see where you're coming from.

They'll find a trade partner as it makes too much sense. It's been reported that lots of teams are interested in Ramsey - they're just waiting out the Dolphins to lower their price or throw in more money. Releasing him is worst case scenario for Miami.
