We had this game. It was ours with a high percentage FG to win the game and our kicker was blocked from 41yards. We can all argue about McVay's play calling, but none of that would have mattered if we made that kick.

The other true statement is that no lead is safe with McVay as HC. He doesn't like to pile on the other team when we are up two scores or more. It doesn't matter if the other team is good or bad, he changes the play calling that often results in 3 and outs or FGs. Then the other teams race up in scoring to cause us all heartburn.
This was the worst Rams' loss in the regular season that I can remember. I am not watching any sports show this week at least, maybe more. I may not post here much...we'll see.

Sheesh. Maybe get outside and touch some grass. No doubt a shitty, and yet somehow predictable collapse by this team, but who knows..... Maybe they learn from it. You're not wrong about McVay tho....

I completely agree on the McVay thing. I feel like we used to win games by a lot in the 2017-2018 seasons. And then for some reason he changed his philosophy on running up the score. It’s cost us a few times the last couple years.

All true, every word.

Don't be gone too long.

It'll be okay. We'll bounce back. Get a lot more wins. We'll be all right. Because even after all of the refs screwing us, even with our mistakes, we were a field goal away from being 3-0.

I understand needing a break, though, Loyal. Take care of yourself, and go Rams! And Mizzou, of course. M-I-Z!

We ran it up on teams through 2021. I'm sure we remember the early days, and in 2021 we took the Giants, Texans and Jaguars to the woodshed. We also dominated the Bucs in the regular season. He's made a habit of running it up on Arizona.

You have to remember that in 2023, we blew up the team. Casuald and pundits projected us to be in last place, have a top 5 pick.

We came out in week one and took it to Seattle. But what you are talking about, for me, starts with those games later in 2023. And I think in 2023/2024, McVay got conservative later in games because we had to project our offensive line and defense (by not risking turnovers for example).

So I kind of see what you mean, but IMO it started then. I don't think we will see that as much this year

Glad you're taking a break, Loyal. You're a great poster and fan, so I hope you do what you need to.

Personally, I'm not of the mindset the loss was on Sean in terms of him ever feeling like he didn't want to run up the score. I believe that guy wants to win and was trying to do so. We get to Monday Morning Quarterback, which is always nice. The game came down to execution, big plays, maybe some ref calls that changed the complexity, and certainly some calls by Sean that didn't work out (and were thus able to be questioned later). We didn't close it out like we should have, nothing more, nothing less, imo.

Everyone handles this stuff their own way, but I hope you come back sooner than later! The board is a better place with you here!

Rams football is a pleasure, normally. Medical problems occupy my waking hours.
