Good chance of that yes. But groupthink is a very powerful thing. Sanders is a middling armed pocket QB from an iffy ass college system whose greatest strength is quick distribution of the ball, but how much of that is him. And when the fuck have guys with iffy arms who are pocket QBs gone high first round.

Yeah, the Sanders talk is wildly bizarre. Glad I am not the only one to notice the groupthink.

No, you can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
But if you try sometime you'll find
You get what you need

None of the above. It's a great weekend event and I'm tired of people thinking we should take a RB in the 1st round.
Ha! You mean we need to move UP in the First Round foe a RB? I'm with ya!

Dart has plenty of his own issues but he's not elevated by the family name. Rather he is elevated by his play under pressure and the fact he's got a suddenness in his mobility that will play well in the NFL.
When pressured last year, Dart completed 41 of 89 passes (46.1%) for 908 yards, four scores and three interceptions with 56 rushes and an insane 23.9% sack rate.

That sack rate is scary. I heard he was good under pressure but that stat suggests otherwise.

IE, Dart kinda blows? ~ @Merlin
Haha. I mean, I kinda feel bad being like the kid SUCKS! I think it's more he's a top of day 3 pick who will suffer from insane pick inflation if taken in the 1st round. HE'S GOT SOME TOOLS! You'd love to see him actually come to the Rams cause he could sit but I would be livid if we spent more than a late 3rd on him.

Nate Tice mentioned the other day that the hard part with Dart is that he just hasn't shown a lot of what you'd see an NFL QB do so it's so much projection. And if you're hoping he can learn, you have to be worried that he hasn't really shown improvement in terms of reads, progressions, and handling pressure over the years in college the way you'd like to see a guy do (ie, Daniels in his last year or Nix - a flawed prospect - who at least showed market improvement once he got to Oregon).

I think it's that he's got a lot of escapability and the dude can hang in there and get smacked while still making a throw.

But neither of those speak to how often he takes sacks.

Dude just does not seem to be able to process post snap... at this point in his career (which might be generous to say).

I can't wait because I'm excited to see what we actually do. We're in a rare position, able to trade up, down, or stay pat. We have needs, but not so many that we can't afford to take the best player available. Quarterback aside, this is an incredibly strong and deep class, so there's a lot of things we could do.

I'm just excited to see what this front office can do with a draft where we don't have an extreme need and a lot of good players.

These subjective stats are funny.
PFF has Dart being rated 2nd highest when facing pressure.

I just don't get that excited about the draft anymore

I used to back in the 90's , anyone here remember those days

before the internet ?

I'd pick up a copy of the Sporting News and USA Today , Draft Coverage Special

they would have their mock draft and list of the top 300 players

rounds 1 - 3 were still on Saturday

I would stop and pick up my beverage and snacks of choice , my yellow highlighter

and would be glued to ESPN from like 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM . or whatever it was , marking off each player as their name was called , to see who was left when it was the Rams choice

flash forward 30 years

I'm now like , yea , whatever......................lol

one round on a Thursday night , 95% chance Rams won't draft the guy I wanted anyways

everythings on the internet , I no longer have to actually pay attention , those 4 or 5 years where the Rams didn't even have a 1st round pick didn't help

now days I just play along on my phone and just check in on the draft when the Rams turn is coming up , and then after the pick , I pretty much have to google to see who it is , and then within two minutes , make quick rash decision if that player who I never heard of will be a bust or not , because I believe everything I read on the internet

now days do I look forward to the Draft ? Yes
do I pay attention to the Draft ? not much

Same here. I recall a few drafts where I couldn’t even find the Rams pick in ‘The Sporting News’.

I love the draft, but I usually only watch rounds 1&2. I get a little bit of Kiper for nostalgia purposes then go to Tice’s YouTube feed.

On Saturday I often just check in on the draft ticker every once in a while so I can see when the Rams pick and then tune in until they make their selection. It’s far too much sitting around time for my liking.
