Guess he hasn't noticed the Rams are always in the mix, unlike the one-year wonders.
It would only go down as one of the biggest failures if they don't make the playoffs. Preseason favorites only with a 15 percent chance of winning it all. That means 85 percent of the time they don't. If they make a deep playoff run and don't win it all, how is a 15 percent chance the biggest failure in history? All they've done is continue to field a contender year after year. And became an elite franchise.

I must be weird or something but I look at that 15% / 85% and say "oh yeah. 50% of the 85% probably shouldn't have been favored, while 100% of that 15% should have been." I think we belong in that 15% window and not that 50 of 85. So yeah, in my mind, if we don't win it all it will be failure. The biggest ever? I think that may go to that team who was 16-0 and didn't end up Champions.

Back to NFL football for me. Fuck MLB!!!

So the Rams were the favorites after their offseason moves and draft. Then they become the prohibitive favorites after trading for Garrett. What kind of favorites will they be once the Donald return becomes official???
Prohibitive Prohibitive.

so the dodgers just picked up another washed up pitcher (just kidding)...

someone said something about him choosing the dodgers, and the dodgers having
the prospects to make it happen...

i guess he is a FA after this year so nobody else wanted a 2 month rental...

im betting the dodgers will get a long term deal done...

i guess another illegitimate world title is on the horizon.... :)

A lockout is almost certain if that happens.

Once she moved from the Coliseum, it was only a matter of time before she found better digs. So I think the movie might very well have shadowed what was already known about the bitch.
CR agreed to move the team in 1978 while he was still alive.

What does that mean to you from a percentage point?

In your opinion, what is the percent you would put on the Rams winning the Lombardi?
If I was setting the odds I would have Rams as favorites to win the Super Bowl.

That is with my usual impartiality, as I am an NFL fan before I'm a Rams fan, and thus, I never think with a biased perspective.

Percentages cannot be put on it, from me anyway, as health plays too big of a part in this equation.
See first paragraph as my "all things being equal" assessment.

Agree but I am trying to gauge how strong a favorite you tink they are.

Agree but good health is critical for every legit Super Bowl contender ... making it part of the equation.

Understand if you don't want to put a Percentage on it. I asked the same question several days ago on ROD; and only two posters responded with an actual percentage.

They are the favorites.

Means nothing.

I was not questioning whether they are the favorites or not.

I was looking for a Number ... a Percentage ... to gauge whether some ROD members may have realistic vs. unrealistic expectations.

You passed ... that's OK

Yes. In general I dont make win/loss predictions. And yes I took a roundabout route while passing. Should have been more straightforward.

Roundabout- GREAT Yes Song.

Not a win-loss prediction.

A percentage ... the Rams have a 10% chance of winning the Lombardi ... vs. a 25% chance ... vs. 50% ... vs. 75%

You got a little So Ram Quality about you ... that's Cool ... but there's only ONE Original

Its win/loss adjacent.

Not my bag, ba-by.....

What is your percentage?
Between 12%-and-16% ... so I will take the average, and say 14%.

To be clear, that would be the highest-percentage of any team in the entire NFL.

The point I am trying to make is that ... It's Really Difficult to Win a Super Bowl.

There are a lot of good teams; and 6-8 Really Good Teams. If you just do the math, any % above 10% is high.

The so called experts think the Rams have the best chance to win the Superbowl. Doesn't mean they will. It just means they have what is considered a roster better built to win it than anyone else. Its all we can ask for as fans. We have a team with very good management and skilled evaluators. Its why they hit on so many day 2 and day 3 picks. The list of good blue chip caliber players picked after the first round is long.

I didn't take it as "actual mathmatical percentage". I took it as what is MY percentage (of confidence) they were winning the Superbowl. I would think most rabid fans are going to have a percentage higher than 14%. If I were to actually THINK hard about it, putting it in your terms, there will be 14 playoff teams so 18 teams won't have a percentage at all. I believe the Rams will be one of those 14 (7.1% each). Then you take 8 of those 14 who "should be" division winners and I think the Rams will be one of those. Add some % to the 8 teams who are (IMO) best positioned to win their division. Buffalo, Baltimore, Houston, LA Chargers, Philly, Detroit, Tampa, LA Rams. Then take the top 2 teams, the bye and the #2 and add some % to them. I'd bet Buffalo and LAC; Rams and Philly. Then the two teams who should win their conferences. Rams and Buffalo. Add some % to those 2. Then the team who should win it all. Rams. Add some % to them. Ergo my 75-85% >>>>>>>>>> :laugh4:

OK but that's the way I phrased the question. From a realistic / mathematical point-of-view.

That's Cool ... and I would agree ... BUT synonyms for Rabid are fanatical, extreme, and frenzied; and that is the opposite of what I was going for.

If I were to actually THINK hard about it, putting it in your terms, there will be 14 playoff teams so 18 teams won't have a percentage at all.
That would only be the case ONLY if I asked this question After the Regular Season and Before the Playoffs.

Every team is a playoff contender right now. Some have EXTEMELY SMALL CHANCES ... like the 1999 Rams!

I believe the Rams will be one of those 14 (7.1% each). Then you take 8 of those 14 are division winners and I think the Rams will be one of those. You just went from rabid (fanatical, extreme and frenzied) to detailed and calculating Really Fast.

Ergo my 75-85% >>>>>>>>>> :laugh4:
Don't go changing languages like that ... How Dare You!

Seriously though ... I admire the enthusiasm and I hope you enjoy the ride ... MOSTLY, I HOPE YOU ARE RIGHT!
