It's amazing that baseball can't see, what makes the NFL so great is that every market, even the teeny tiny ones, have the same chance of winning as the big markets.I do call the Dodgers - Yankees West sometimes. Their payroll annoys me a little but I will always be a Dodgers fan.
Thing is the Dodgers don't need to spend that money to be a great team - they have such a great farm system that they can make trades at the Deadline to pick up players for a few months to win the world series similar to how the Rams trade for players using their draft picks.
Baseball, to me was at its best in the '60s and '70s before the advent of free agency, when cities like Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Oakland were thriving on a level playing field. Once Steinbrenner came along, and bought up Catfish Hunter, Reggie Jackson, and then Dave Winfield that's when Baseball started to go to the Shithouse, IMHO.
