I don't think that's the issue. What I see is McVay not adjusting the run game like he should. Before Seattle, he was steady running Williams in the middle. Very seldom did he run him wide. It was the Seattle game, where he finally ran Williams wide and that's where Williams got most of his yardage. Before that we see him running Williams inside time after time...as if opponents don't see that. Williams can get yards many ways and McVay needs to employ that. Otherwise he's just getting Williams beat up over time.

The Seattle game is equally the first game where McVay rolled Stafford out more times thatn any of the previous games combined...and it's good that he saw it. Perhaps in the future he do more of it. Seattle was determined not to let the Rams run inside and also collapse the pocket around Stafford. It's great McVay adjusted. That's how I see it.
The reason Limmer can't block the run is because we are trying to run inside too much - interesting take.

The entire year run blocking has not been good - it's one of the worse in the league.

Mostly because of missing Avila and Jackson - which is why they need to get back in there ASAP.

That's not what I said. Rushing takes the entire offensive line, not just Limmer. Now, we know the Oline has had it's share of injuries, so we can't discount that. What I said is the Rams have very seldom run wide, they try to run inside almost exclusivley...and like I said, the Seattle game is where they really began to run wide.

I counted 4 offensive penalties negating 40+ rushing yards from Williams. Yes some rushes were no gain but that was a decent day otherwise.

Avilla is a doublewide mfer. Hope he comes out ready to road grade.
Looks like Avila & Jackson might be back ? So the question is going to be what happens with all The Young Rookies across the board.

JJ43 is due back as well. There are teams scrolling the rams ticket wires.

Jackson would still be an upgrade
over Limmer despite how well the rook has played.

Avila and Jackson need to play if they are ready.
What about RT ??

Havenstein seems to always be hurt lately. He is off the field more than he is on it. At some point you have to say its not just bad luck its poor conditioning.

Ok. Do we discount the fact that the offense was missing Kupp and Puka until the Vikes game? I mean... don't teams look at those things? So let's not act like a full offensive attack doesn't help. Isn't that part of the uptick in the offense too....

Things are looking better on all ends because a team has to defend everything. They really started to take it to Seattle when McVay changed his offensive scheme and began to roll Stafford and run Williams wide...that's a fact!

I don't think you mess with what's been working. I say leave Limmer alone...the guy is SOLID! These darn "grades" mean nothing to me..I grade with my eyeballs. Limmer is getting it done...DON'T MESS WITH THE CONTINUITY YOU HAVE!
I agree.
It depends what the coaches think gives them the best combo.....Avila/Limmer or Dedich/Avila....I would suspect Limmer will stay at C with Avila at LG.
Once Jackson and Avila are both back Limmer will head to the bench.

Who is to say that future doesn't start in 2026 though? Given Jonah Jackson's contract, they would have a lot of dead money and very little in cap savings to cut or trade him next year. It's doubtful he's gone next year.
Dead money yes, saves $3.3 million in cap space next year if he is cut before camp next year.
If Limmer is the real deal maybe its worth eating it if Jackson can't get on the field.

I believe we are agreeing in concluding McVay has had to navigate both significant OL and WR injuries. IF (key word IF) we can get everyone back and the rust knocked off - we should see a much more dominant run offense and options for Stafford in the passing game.

If you're willing to spend $17 mil. on a starting caliber guard, you would keep him for depth if it only cost $3.3 mil.

all that dead money to save only 3.3? I would rather keep him as a back up
I get it....depends if that money could be used somewhere else, like signing a FA ILB or CB.
But, really, whether they think Limmer is up to snuff.
Jackson is a solid player but can't stay healthy.....hopefully once he is back he has a streak of health ala Roger Saffold.

I disagree with the premise here.. because I think the Rams run game.. and offense.. was built around the ability to run inside. Moving away from outside zone and move toward more gap and duo was the entire point.
If there was an adjustment to outside zone runs.. that was because they can't do what they want to do because of limitations. Last year? They were moving people.
If we want to see what this offense was designed to be.. we need those guys back in there.

It amazes me that we have a 10-year stalwart right tackle who is a borderline pro bowler, and people want to make out like he is some kind of weak link in our offensive line.
The only question concerning Hav is how long will he be a Ram? He's solid. He's been here since before McVay. He was here before Goff. We've had some high draft picks who didn't pan out and they weren't here long. If Havenstein wasn't a quality RT, he wouldn't be here.
