Goff didn’t decide to be drafted by the RamsBut we wouldn't have gotten Stafford without Goff.

That's not my point.Goff didn’t decide to be drafted by the Rams
Holmes knew that it was only going to cost him 25 M the first year and then 15 M Cap hit the second year if they decided to go another direction and 0 cap hit the 3rd year if he was dumped after two years. That's not at all how I remember it. I specifically remember reading that the Rams had to sweeten the pot. In fact, if you really think that Holmes covered goff, then we got fleeced if we had to give up two first in addition to him. I'm not above being wrong though. But I recall the lions having to take Goff's contract which no one wanted as part of the reason.
And I did think we got fleeced since McVay put down Goff after the playoff game.
But as you say, I could be wrong too.
Fleeced in that I felt we gave up too much at the time for Stafford.
Um 2021Stafford is not an elite QB. I can't think of any signature playoff comebacks. Never won anything in Detroit.
Had an opportunity this weekend to pull one of the bag and didn't happen.
Then I don’t understand your point. That's not my point.
Were you born in 2022 or did you suffer a serious head injury…Stafford was THE assassin in 2021!!!Stafford is not an elite QB. I can't think of any signature playoff comebacks. Never won anything in Detroit.

No significant playoff comebacks? Did you watch our Super Bowl run in '21?Stafford is not an elite QB. I can't think of any signature playoff comebacks. Never won anything in Detroit.

Really?!?Stafford is not an elite QB. I can't think of any signature playoff comebacks. Never won anything in Detroit.

Yeah it's all history now anyways. Glad it worked out for everyone. Goff gave his all here.Holmes knew that it was only going to cost him 25 M the first year and then 15 M Cap hit the second year if they decided to go another direction and 0 cap hit the 3rd year if he was dumped after two years.
I think 25M was cheap for a decent QB even in 2021.
And I did think we got fleeced since McVay put down Goff after the playoff game.
Everyone knew that the Rams had given up on Goff and knew that the Rams weren't going to get much for him. But Holmes knew Goff and probably believed that Goff would be a decent transition QB at 25 M for one year. And Holmes knew trading Stafford to the 49ers weren't going to give him much of a QB in return. I think he knew Crapola was a system QB. And Crapola at that time would have demanded a higher salary than Goff.
But as you say, I could be wrong too.
Brother.... The Superbowl?!?Stafford is not an elite QB. I can't think of any signature playoff comebacks. Never won anything in Detroit.

I think he's effing with us.No significant playoff comebacks? Did you watch our Super Bowl run in '21?
I think he may have named the wrong QB.I think he's effing with us.

Dude is in 4th place all time for 4th quarter comebacks. Did you see he had ANOTHER "no look" pass in a playoff game this past Sunday. He played the end of the season with cracked ribs.Stafford is not an elite QB. I can't think of any signature playoff comebacks. Never won anything in Detroit.

I think you and I are on two completely different thought patterns here. And I have no idea what your point is.Then I don’t understand your point.
Do you mean Goff intentionally sucked so that McVay wanted to trade him away?
I don’t understand your point.
I think you and I are on two completely different thought patterns here.
So I think it is best to just go our separate ways.
I think he has flashes of being elite, but now he's to old and gets banged up to much and it shows in his game. He's tough as nails no doubt but when he's hurting we fall off the points scored. The future is, obviously, the qb types left in the playoffs. I love Stafford, he just needs better players now around him than ever before.Stafford is not an elite QB. I can't think of any signature playoff comebacks. Never won anything in Detroit.
