I have nothing against Mahomes or Allen and I 100% understand protecting star players.Yeah, I have no ill will towards Goff. It was frustrating to me that for all we gave up, he didn't turn out to be a Mahomes level impact player, but that was never going to happen and the Rams adjusted by getting a proven commodity.
You have to admit, this play is a perfect reflection of what bothers me most about today's NFL. Goff on this play, and Stafford on what seems like a few plays per game, get rocked late or in the neck and head area and the refs see it and don't call it. Meanwhile, if Mahomes gets sacked or hit a nanosecond after ball leaves hand, that flag is coming out immediately. Sometimes when he DOESN'T even get touched, in fact.
Both Mahomes and Allen (and who knows, maybe wunderkind Daniels soon will) know how to exploit this and it makes it 1000% worse to watch.
I digress.
Yes, I did address that. They could still have a good team though. They couldnt have that team around him if they kept Stafford, the majority of that team is what they got for him
Sideline mic picked up this from the team doctor doing a cognitive test:I hope this will take your mind off of the pain caused by a snow filled let down...

Me too, he throws a really good looking ball. Very good touch on it when he throws deep too. Remember his deep shot to Cooks against the Saints in the NFC Final? To this day, I think his fake handoff on play action might be the best and most convincing in the NFL. It is so fluid. When he is "on", it is so entertaining, everything looks so calm, cool, collected, and effortless as he throws perfectly placed pass after perfectly placed pass into tight windows.I like watching Goff.
That the best you got?Sideline mic picked up this from the team doctor doing a cognitive test:
Doc: "Where does the sun rise?"
Goof: "Uhh..."
Doc: "He's good to go."
Aw, did I get in your Goofy fweelings? We so sorry. LOLThat the best you got?
Don’t quit your day job.
I think he can but he definitely needs a defense that doesn't give up 38 points in the playoffs even with the turnovers. (Not counting the 7 points that was scored on an interception return).I don't hate Goff, I just felt he doesn't have "IT" when it's time to go out there and put the team on your shoulders and win the game.
He does great when everything around him is optimal, but he struggles when things aren't perfect.
That translates well to the regular season, but when you come up against adversity in the playoffs, against some really tough defenses, it's not so good.
I'm not sure he will ever be able to win it all, and that's why McVay traded him away.
If they had the right OL set up for that last play - we win that game with a pass to Higbee over the middle.Me too, he throws a really good looking ball. EDIT - Though I still prefer watching #9's patented come from behind marches down field. Nothing like it. All those late wins in our '21 Super Bowl run were unbelievable. I was convinced Stafford was going to pull another rabbit out of the hat vs. Philly. It will take me a long while to get get over it. The Rams had that game won, and I don't see them losing to Washington at home....
Dang, we are going to do this again aren't we? Goff thread 569 ongoing...
