No one is saying that. The comparison to how Stafford is better than Goff is just being discussed based on if they both had all the current Lions weapons who would do better. Hypotheticals basically lolThey couldnt have that team around him if they kept Stafford, the majority of that team is what they got for him
I understand disappointment in Goff. If I were a Lions fan I’d throw a lot of disappointment his way. But I don’t understand any hatred towards Goff. And I’ll use Marc Bulger as a comparable example. Rams under him were disappointing but was there hatred towards him?
I’m honestly asking - as Rams fans what’s the reason for hatred towards Goff?
I
Wow. I've read each post in this thread and there is literally nothing new posted about Jared Goff after all these years...but not one of you posted this.

That in mo way shape or form gives Goff any credit for Stafford’s success as a Ram.What everybody has forgotten
Without Goff, we don't get Stafford.

That's Not technically accurate. We had to trade Goff to make the cap work. If we didn't have Goff then we could've just traded the picks. In fact, one of the first round picks was because the lions had to take Goff off our hands. It's becoming revisionist history especially with lions fans because Goff ended up playing well enough to stay there. He was a cut candidate for them in 2021.What everybody has forgotten

I completely disagree. Holmes was already pretty much going to send Stafford to SF when the Rams said we will give you Goff 2 first picks and a third. Holmes knew Goff and knew he was a capable QB to carry them thru until they could get a better QB. Fortunately, Goff was their better QB.That's Not technically accurate. He had SF beaten last year. Campbell lost that game. Plus two critical drops by Reynolds. Reynolds catches either one and Lions go to the superbowl.Goff is a fine quarterback. You could do worse than him for sure. But I don't see him winning 3 or 4 playoff games in a row. He can decimate lesser teams. But when you get to the playoffs you have to win several against the best to be a champion. Kinda like Stafford.
That's not at all how I remember it. I specifically remember reading that the Rams had to sweeten the pot. In fact, if you really think that Holmes covered goff, then we got fleeced if we had to give up two first in addition to him. I'm not above being wrong though. But I recall the lions having to take Goff's contract which no one wanted as part of the reason.I completely disagree.
