The Rams were lucky with Stafford. How often do top 5ish QBs become available, with several elite years left, because they are playing on awful teams forever that want to re-build and give their QB a chance to win? Very rare.
The Bengals seems hopelessly incompetent at sustaining a winning team, and cheap, which is in large part to blame. Burrow has made a few comments about the latter. I wonder if he will be happy there long-term, and if after another 2-3 years, if Stafford hangs them up, the Rams do it again - offer multiple first round picks, plus some assets, to pry a star QB away. I am sure the Bengals would prefer to deal Burrow out of conference. Maybe a pipe dream, perhaps. Eerily similar too - guys that tend to get dinged up, are known in particular for being clutch and cool under pressure while playing through it, and more of a pocket passer in an increasingly running QB oriented league.
