I have never watched film of him, and it is hard to tell playing for the Titans how good a QB is, but whenever I watch him, he does not appear to be a smart player. He doesn't seem to really read defences much, or even go through progressions. The goal seems to just be to run, or throw, as hard and fast as possible. No real touch or great accuracy on the ball. Not sure that is a Sean McVay type of QB.

I know Titans aren’t a big nationally telecasted team so some of you should go watch Levi’s actual play. It was scary in a bad way.
So was Darnold.
That’s the point.. getting a distressed asset cheap.

But.. BIG QUALIFIER… I’m no expert!!! Lol.. I think it’s the kind of gamble they could take.. but, who knows?

I would not do it just planning to hand him the keys.

Levi’s was a backup QB at Penn State. He’s went to Kentucky and ran McVay’d offense under Coen.

Even a middle of the road version of McVay’s scheme is a lot for most college defenses to handle. That scheme is more responsible for his college success than he is. He hasn’t looked good in the pros at all.

I’d rather keep Jimmy G and save the draft picks

I think there would be better options to roll the dice on. I’m just not sure if any of them will be available.

Zach Wilson or Sam Howell are two I’d be interested to see if McVay could resurrect.

However, I’d keep Jimmy G as the primary backup
Howell looked AWFUL this year. Awful.
Wilson has some incredible traits..

I’m all for bringing in reclamation projects that takes minimal money but with the way we draft lately I wouldn’t waste draft picks on it.

I hear you on that.

If they can take a flyer on Zach Wilson for cheap.. might be the same kind of thing.

Jimmy doesn't solve our problem. Stafford is nearing retirement. I don't have much confidence in Levis, but he has great tools. Take a flier on him for a late Day 3 pick. If he doesn't impress, go after a different QB after 2025. It's a logical plan if they don't want to spend a 3rd or 4th on a QB. Jimmy is just kicking the can down the road.

The Rams were lucky with Stafford. How often do top 5ish QBs become available, with several elite years left, because they are playing on awful teams forever that want to re-build and give their QB a chance to win? Very rare.

The Bengals seems hopelessly incompetent at sustaining a winning team, and cheap, which is in large part to blame. Burrow has made a few comments about the latter. I wonder if he will be happy there long-term, and if after another 2-3 years, if Stafford hangs them up, the Rams do it again - offer multiple first round picks, plus some assets, to pry a star QB away. I am sure the Bengals would prefer to deal Burrow out of conference. Maybe a pipe dream, perhaps. Eerily similar too - guys that tend to get dinged up, are known in particular for being clutch and cool under pressure while playing through it, and more of a pocket passer in an increasingly running QB oriented league.

Garapolo is a better starting option than Levis. If Stafford gets injured I’d rather have Garapolo to back him up.

Have no idea what people’s obsession with trying to get these failed prospects and revamp them somehow.

It’s similar to trying to take a stripper and make a functional home maker out of her, it isn’t in the cards.

We have a backup QB right now who would have a ring if it wasn’t for his dumb ass Ray Boy coach. Is he Stafford? Obviously no, but he’s a fucking superior backup! Pay him 2 years.

It’s very easy to carry 3 QBs now. Why wouldn’t you be mining for a gem?

My thought is to trade for him to be the backup next year and find out what he really can offer with real coaching and a real offense.

It would, of course, depend on draft capital... but he's a cheaper alternative to Darnold and offers the same kind of potential, imo.
He can run a little bit.. and has that fucking cannon.
No, in fact hell no. Dude is trash.
