Pick
26

Los Angeles Rams

Matthew Golden
Texas · WR · Junior
After the signing of Davante Adams to pair with Puka Nacua (both possession-style receivers with 4.5 to 4.6 speed), the Rams' 11-personnel-heavy offense lacks a true vertical threat to stretch defenses. Golden offers that missing element with his top-end acceleration and explosive playmaking ability. His presence would help open space underneath for Adams, Nacua and Kyren Williams in Sean McVay’s layered passing attack.

So the Rams give up 26, 90 and 127 and get 39 and 45 back in return?

Would still give us two good picks... interesting.

Gennaro Filice, NFL Network: Alabama LB Jihaad Campbell (trade with Lions)

In Filice's mock draft, the Rams trade back two picks to No. 28 with the Lions (compensation not included).
Campbell is widely considered one of the top inside linebacker prospects in this year's draft thanks to his ideal blend of quickness and physicality. Recently, the Rams have not valued linebackers this high in the draft, but Campbell would add a dynamic presence against the run and pass to the middle of the Rams' defense.
"A first-team All-SEC linebacker with hybrid skills as a pass rusher, Campbell put on a show in Indianapolis," Filice wrote. "But a post-combine shoulder surgery has created uncertainty around his draft stock.
"The only problem with this projection? Well, Les Snead hasn't spent a top-100 pick on a linebacker since back when the Rams were in St. Louis (Alec Ogletree, No. 30 overall, 2013). But Campbell could be a monster in Chris Shula's defense, extending the fun youth movement up front to the second level. So, I say EFF THEM PICK TENDENCIES!!"
I think I'd be on board with this. I have hesitation of taking Campbell outright at 26 due to current labrum injury, but, a trade back would offer less risk.

Terrible trade value. Makes no sense.

Look at it this way... you drop from 26 to 39. Why?

Seems to me that pick 90 & 127 alone are worth pick 45. So what do we get for dropping to 39? That was obviously written by a Bears beat writer or fan.

Rams
26. Josh Conerly Jr. OT/G, Oregon
90. Quincy Riley, CB, Louisville
101. Danny Stutsman, LB, Oklahoma
127. Kyle McCord, QB, Syracuse
190. Ricky White III, WR, UNLV
195. Cam Horsley, DT, Boston College
201. Jalin Conyers, TE, Texas Tech
202. Que Robinson, EDGE, Alabama

Truly dislike Conerly at 26. Multiple prospects picked after this that I'd much rather:
Hairston
Egbuka
Starks
J.Simmons (if we are taking OT, why wouldn't we swing for the fences. He could rehab his knee all year)
Dart
Burden
Amos

The list goes on. I think Conerly is a 2nd round talent personally.

I wouldn't be much of a fan of it either. I honestly even prefer Ersery over Conerly as a tackle prospect (including all of the prospects you named). I'd also add Ezeiruaku to the drafting over Conerly list.

Agree, I'd much prefer him to Conerly as well. If they want Conerly, trade back. I think he falls to 2nd.

Usually really like Danes work but that draft is just ok to me. But I have been wrong and will be again soon if not now.

From Gemini AI

26. Los Angles Rams Mike Green, EDGE, Marshall

The Rams have a need in the secondary, but instead continue their investment in a young defense by adding to the pass rush with Green. Los Angeles will have to address the secondary later, but with Barron, Johnson and even Starks off the board, it's hard to argue with adding more to the edge. Gemini likes Green's upside and how productive he was in college. In this hypothetical, the Rams will hope the chatbot is right about that.
------------------------------------------------------------
I've been thinking of Mike Green at the Edge. The Rams could move BY to inside LB. He has the speed to cover and move sideline to sideline. Rams play 1 LB a lot. That would give them another pass rusher. Teams would not know where the rush was covering.

ICK! If Ezeiruaku is on the board and Green's the pick, I'd force myself to vomit.

He was taken at #19 by the Bucs. Defensive line draft so the Rams could add one. Rams can get a very good defensive player with #26.

They definitely could...but I don't like the edge rushers around the first round range other than Ezeiruaku and Scourton, and I'd have to trade down to be fine with Scourton. Stewart reminds me of Vernon Gholston: looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane, except even Gholston had better stats and film at Ohio State. He's on my DND list. Green and Pearce have serious character issues that struck them off my draft list. Mykel Williams is very raw and wouldn't contribute much his first year (but you could probably convince me that he would be a good pick if he was picked by us). Wouldn't be my favorite pick, but I could eventually accept it (much like the category Milroe's currently in).

But Green has had two sexual assault charges (that were just charges, not indictments, to be fair, but still too Roethlisberger-like): one in high school, and one at Ohio State. There's nothing that could justify taking him.

I didn't know that. More than likely a pass by the Rams.

I'm playing catchup on the draft. From what I've been reading here it seems like the Rams will get a solid player. I like defense early to make this group a potential top 5-6. Mock drafts are all over the place with the Rams pick. A trade-down has to be on the table too.

Made a mistake, Mike Green played for Virginia, got suspended there after the sexual assault accusation, transferred to Marshall. Either way, he's on my DND list.

A trade down has to be considered. Problem is that the draft is really fluid in the #15-#50 range; there's no true first round talent in that range.

There are a handful of players there who would be guaranteed first-round selections were it not for injury concerns, Jihaad Campbell and Benjamin Morrison to name but two.
