The kid has some major shortcomings. Mentally, he's not there yet. May never get there. But if he falls far enough, I'd certainly take my chances. Give him some time to learn, start him out with an offense that simplifies reads, and use his legs to compensate in the short term for the shortcomings in the passing game.

Jalen Hurts did not look good in his second season as a college starter. Even got benched for a true freshman Tua in the national title game. He eventually figured it out. Milroe may too. And if he does, he's an even better physical talent than Hurts.
6th round pick at best imho

Somebody who will know better than me, please help. Josh Simmons is listed at 310. Doesn't that feel light for a left tackle?
I think anything north of 300 is fine. In his case movement after surgery and pass pro will be the main thing. That said if the doctors sign off on him, I dont expect him to be there at 26.

A quick reminder that weight isn't everything...

Obviously, nobody else is going to be AD, but technique, intelligence and application are just as important as pure bulk.

I see. I'd worry about him in the run game and anchoring against stronger pass rusher.

Have to wonder with Stafford coming back if Millroe might be in play at 26? A couple years to groom him behind Stafford. Maybe some red zone plays here and there.

Disagree.
I am not saying that is when he is going to be selected but that is when my personal bias would pick him.

I am tired of seeing us draft high risk QBs in the 3rd and 4th round in the past 50 years who do crap.

I have not seen one Ram high risk QB drafted in the 4th round who did anything in the NFL since the 1977 draft.

Stetson Bennett
Sean Mannion (3rd round)
Joe Germaine
Jeff Carlson
Hugh Millen (3rd round)
Mark Manges

We have to go back all the way to 1977 when we drafted Vince Ferragamo in the 4th round. He is the only one who did anything.

So we are 0-6 for drafting high risk QBs since then.

And this guy looks risky as heck.

And yes I am a grumpy old man for going back 50 years

#26 is too rich for my blood.

That's not abnormal. The percentage odds of success on QBs outside the first round are very low. The fact that we managed to land Kurt Warner, Marc Bulger, and Ryan Fitzpatrick in period of a few years is what's highly abnormal.

Milroe is a lottery ticket. The odds are against him. But he's a special talent. There are only so many guys who have the ability to be an impact player at the QB position. Milroe has that potential. That's why you take the chance. I believe in McVay. And since we'll have some time to develop him, I'm willing to take the risk if he falls to the right spot.

We definitely got lucky with Kurt Warner Marc Bulger and Ryan Fitzpatrick.

But all of them were 6th round or lower or UDFA.

Take your chances then not in a 4th round when there is BPA at that spot.

But that's just me.

I don't believe in that approach to drafting. I'll take my chances when a QB I like is available at a pick where I feel he's undervalued. Maybe that's Milroe. Maybe it's a different QB. We need to start thinking about the future. Grabbing a QB in the 6th or UDFA does nothing for me if I don't like any of the guys available.

Where do you see Milroe going? I'd love him as a project, FAR more then Bennett

Maxwell Hairston just ran a 4.28.

So much for the second round.

Maybe. D.J. Turner of Michigan ran a 4.26/40 a couple years back and lasted until the bottom of round two. And I can't recall as much negativity / concern regarding his run support like Hairston.

You can even add to the list by dropping down (2-3) who were he risk.
Then again Brock Purdy could’ve been had by all. The Rams had Jalen Hurts, until he slipped away.

I might have taken him before Cam Akers, but I was hoping to trade into the 1st rd for Johnathan Taylor.

I don’t even look into this stuff anymore, but my last 2 I really wanted The Rams to draft were SUPER BOWL players.

Actually not - Taylor & then Mr. Tosh Push - Landon Dickerson himself. This dude is so BIG & Strong. He gets so low & with Jalen Hurts it’s magic.

I LMAO at these non football news people thinking they know anything about it.

My examples because I’m off track are this playoff season. LOL - now they want to ban it ? It’s a whole other story.

Dickerson was hurt & had to play Center. The Eagles were not successful. It was funny, because he can’t get as low & no one was at his LG spot to do what he does.

Another example is The Bills game.Josh Allen couldn’t get those extra yards. Then you have the marker.

As far as drafting a QB !! Yeah - I like the Veteran QB.-?
