How capable is he though when he misses a ton of games every year? He's a fill in because he loses his starting spot every time he gets injured.
I'm more concerned with not needing reserves on the oline by having reliable starters. Paying an o-lineman 15 mill to be a reserve while letting a stud starting OG walk instead of paying him 17-18 mill is just insanity to me
I don't know that we are really disagreeing here.
I REALLY want Dotson back. We agree here ... Right?
I HATE the Noteboom contract. We also agree there ... Right?
I hope the Rams give Dotson a huge contract, and have mentioned the Packers' deal with Jenkins twice already as a comparable. That would be something along the lines of 4 years and $70M. That's an average of $17.5M-per-year. That's the same amount you proposed above ... Isn't it?
All I have been saying is that a Franchise Tag is not the way to go because it would be an $18M hit in 2024; and would limit the Rams from making some other additions. A four-year deal can be structured to keep the 2024 cap hit at around $7-$8M in 2024.
Are you saying
(like my close person friend Giles) that you want the Rams to Franchise Tag Dotson?
If so, then we do disagree.
