Didn't angry ram already start a post pointing out everything that's been said in here, a month ago?

yeah, he been getting whipped by the opposing receivers for quite a while.

He had a good game on Sunday.
What's ironic is many fans will bitch and complain about our severe lack of pass rush and pressure then turn around and complain about our secondary, as if the two aren't connected.

He had 3 poor games, following an arrest which was a boneheaded move by him. The rest of the games this season he has been a positive for our defense.

So it has been a mixed bag but again I will say give me a kid like him over a Long or a Rochell, neither of whom are as good as him due to his instincts and mental toughness.

Question is whether he is a long term answer. Not sure about that but I appreciate what he brings on gameday.

He plays hard and makes some big plays, but he also has the 5th highest missed tackle % in the NFL and he is one of the most penalized players in the league.

I’m not trying to get rid of the guy, but I’m not sure why some to object so strenuously to the criticism he is receiving.

The unnecessary roughness was a bs call.
All he did was take him all the way to the ground. Which was nice to see.

The taunting penalty pissed me off though. That was a legitimate call.
Yep.

I was still in shock that he'd made the play on the ball so did not go off like I normally would have over him running his mouth at the SEA bench.

Even when he does something good---really, really good--he does something stupid.

Maybe a couple of more 'Come to Jesus,' moments with AD on the sideline can get through to him...

Let's just say he had his best game of the season Sunday and leave it at that. This other stuff is just constantly being recycled over and over again. My wife wants to thank you for that post Mackeyser.

He is big... not that fast though. He will tackle.

However, he looks slow out there at times, and I worry about what goes on between his ears.

He has had some decent games and some really bad ones.

he has developed some kind of cult following...

some average joe cornerback is now the champion of unfair treatment.

One thing that struck me about DK's int is how effortlessly he plucked the ball out of the air--it seemed like nothing to him to just grab it. He's been practicing getting his head around too, I'd imagine. Maybe he'll become a ball hawk.

He also seems to want to tackle.

Kendrick has given up 30.8 yards per game and 2 TD's this season ....
He gives up a 90.2 QB rating... which is okay

About average on our team.

He is one of the worst tacklers in the league % wise.

Take away the 90 penalty yards this season and he is okay.

As Merlin mentioned, most of his poor play revolved around the arrest. But if you go back and watch the tapes, Kendrick is typically in position. He's still only 23, he's not reacting quick enough to make enough plays, yet. Will he get there? I don't know. But on that INT, you saw textbook technique, resulting in perfect coverage and an INT, against a good WR. It is a glimpse of what he can be, which I think is a solid #2 CB. He may have a little ballhawk in him, too early to tell.

Regarding his missed tackles, this whole team struggles with tackling. But no one can say the Kendrick is not a WILLING tackler. He's not typically shying away from contact.

Watch interviews with Kendrick. He's his biggest critic, and always acknowledges the mistakes he's made.

The general objectivity to the criticism, isn't about the criticism, it's about how it's dished out. Because at the end of the day, I watch Kendrick play, and alot of it is still too big and too fast for him, but I know he's give a damn about what is happening.

Kendrick is a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma. We have yet to figure him out. He has more ups and downs than a roller coaster. At this point all we can do is hope he matures into a steady contributor that plays smart and avoids careless penalties (and distractions outside of football as well).

At this point, I don't see DK flash like I see with other young players. I think he is who he is. As a fan and only a fan my knowledge only goes so far and so does my opinion. But he's young and still has time to improve. If he doesn't improve by next season I suspect that the coaching staff will eventually bench him.

Your blatant hatred for Kendrick is ridiculous. He had critical plays that changed the trajectory of that game yesterday, including a TFL, several passes defensed and the INT. He's a 23 year old KID and not that influential in the lockerroom. Anybody can say what they want about McVay, but there is little to doubt about the solid culture he has built.

You can easily go back and watch the UR penalty on Kendrick. It wasn't even in the same realm as Witherspoon's. If that penalty had been called on ANY other Ram, everybody would be bitching about how it was a poor call. I don't know what caused the unsportsmanlike penalty, but I'm not overly concerned about it given this is an embattled kid (for all his life) making the biggest play of his career.

Kendrick is our best cover corner, and he will continue to improve if given opportunities. If it's not here, it will be somewhere else.

No. The supplex is not a legal move, unless you are watching WWE

I think he has the potential to be a decent #2 CB and we've seen that on multiple occasions this year.
Yes and no. He still has to rein in the emotions and use his head more.
Fan Bases can be bi-polar, Kendrick is a perfect example
The amount of shade thrown at him over the course of the season has been at historic levels, comparable to Bobby Evans
Now he has a great play and overall decent game and all is forgiven?
Hmmm.... I think not....
Most of the shade was deserved. On a team that has lost some close games that they shouldn’t have, dumb penalties are much more glaring and damaging.

Remember it was an underthrown pass. He did good but it wasn’t incredible.

Kendrick really turned it on against a backup QB. Let’s not crown him just yet. His strength is in zone coverage and he gets burned in man. He is not a great tackler either.

I’m sure that everybody here would forgive it all if he becomes an all-pro corner and stops with the penalties, but until that happens, maybe cool the attacks.

Well, Slo. It was still illegal. He was arrested for the same thing in college. He seems to be lacking the ability to learn from his mistakes.

The issue is that it hurts the team. He was a starter after all. We are Rams fans and want to see the team succeed. Plus we have come to like the ‘We, not me’ culture. So it’s reasonable for fans to be upset about his actions.

(I live in PA. It’s an open carry state and I do have me concealed carry permit. So it’s not some political issue, which I felt you were angling at.)
