Yeah, I expect them to add at least two CBs in the draft. One early, one late. Williams will be gone or will take a big paycut. Next year he has a $7M base salary and only a $500K roster. So maybe they cut his base pay down to $2M? If he has no suitors, maybe he stays under those circumstances. Otherwise time to get younger.
They can give his $7M in savings to Durant. Never thought much about extending him, but he is earning it. However, he is likley to get overpaid in FA. So unless they extend him now, he is probably gone.
Yeah, I misread that. You're right, he's definitely a possible cut.
The only pause I have to them cutting him is they already have five free agent DBs after this season. You cut him and that's six DBs they have to replace, which is a tall order.
If they extend Lake and/or Durant before the season ends, like they just did with Landman, then I can see him being cut. But if not, I'm not seeing it. Cuts happen before free agency; I don't think they'll enter free agency with only four DBs under contract.

The worst part about Kendrick is taking dumb penalties too. I will never forget that game against San Francisco last year, where he almost got penalized for coming off the bench in street clothes. He better not compound his in ablilty to cover a bed by taking an additional 15 yards for some boneheaded mistake.

Edit: I guess he was fined - not flagged. The team itself was also fined 100k for that crap.
Lucky they didn’t call a penalty because the 49ers would have been in FG range and a game cannot end on a defensive penalty. For as careful as the Rams are Kendrick is the antithesis of what they want to embody.
