Right... just wondered if McVay provided more clarity on this. Last I heard was McVay saying that McCreary "could have gone back in if needed." So I guess the injury was worse than originally thought?

I think it's just a legit injury. McVay referred to it as a hamstring but now I read it's a groin.

Don't think a D-back can cover with a tight groin. I'm kind of useless with a tight groin.

Yeah, to me it wasn't about his "poor tackling"... it was about him being a freaking idiot and also getting stupid and unnecessary penalties.

Guy is a competitor, I'll give him that. And he's tall enough.

But the stupid penalties... what can I say, I hope we don't ever need to rely on him.

Also knows the shortcuts to and from Thousand Oaks to Sofi to avoid traffic on the 101 & 405. You can't put a price on that!

Yeah I can definitely see that scenario play out. Seems like the Rams are attempting to sure up depth before a playoff run.....just wish it was someone else but I get its harder to get someone up to speed although that happened with McCreary. I think Kendrick will probably stick around until McCreary comes back which sucks but what can ya do?

Where did you get both pieces of data? It's rough to believe they'll seriously try to bring him back now since they haven't really seen him in their scheme.

The injury came on one of the first plays of Tampa's opening possession. McVay commented on it in his post-game press conference, and his Monday press conference (both are must listens, IMO) but McVay referred to the injury as a hamstring. Now, it is being reported as a groin injury.

Have not heard/read about wanting McCreary back but I hope that's the case, with so many DBs possibly gone after this season ... Lake, Durant, Williams, Curl, Witherspoon could all be gone ... Hope Not.

Minor correction: Williams is under contract next season. But yeah, we have a lot of free agent DBs.

I'm just not sure how we would know we want to bring him back without fully evaluating how he fits by playing in the scheme. Which is why I'm hoping they bring back Lake and Durant. Known products.

I didn't say free agents. I said could possibly be gone.

Williams 2026 cap hit is almost $9M. That's the 5th highest on the entire team; and, he will be 33 years old.

If released, the Rams would save $7.5M against the cap. I have posted several times, I expect him to be cut.

He was only designated-to-return.
That opens a 21-day window for the Rams to activate him.
From everything I have read, and heard from McVay's press conferences, Witherspoon is still a couple weeks away from playing on Sunday.
