It’s supposed to be crazy. I guess Bruss and McClendon were drafted on day three, so maybe it’s not so far fetched. It may be wishful thinking that McClendon pans out.
I think Shelton is center this year. Then in 2024 the line looks like this:
Jackson
McClendon
Avila
Bruss
Havenstein
This line would have two studs and possibly three average to above average players in between. That has potential to be good. A line only has to have two very good players to elevate it the rest of the unit.
They’ve got some intriguing UDFA linemen too.
Our two best corners (Durant & Tomlinson) are slot sized but will be needed outside. I think both will survive fine out there though we'll give up some easy yards at times due to size/tackling.Yeah, Tomlinson is electric. I thought the slot was Durrants, but maybe he's being considered a boundary corner at this point.
Gotta add that If Bruss doesn't win that job at RG he's a bust. Period. It means his head is not in the game for whatever reason or he can't figure out pass pro at this level, because losing to Shelton in year two at OG would be a catastrophe for him. Shelton is not a good OG. He is a marginal Center though. That line to me is prob best case scenario for 2024 if McClendon really is the diamond in the rough that many think he is and Bruss can show well (I just haven't seen anything to make me think he's gonna be good but also, we don't have much to go on).
Shelton is the center this year if Bruss can show something for sure. If he can't, I think one of the guard spots is Shelton's to lose and Allen gets one more shot at Center.

Kendrick I pray starts in the slot in camp. He needs the protection it affords for his lack of speed. If not, then we're gonna be dealing with him getting BBQ'd whenever he doesn't get a good jam off the los. Or with Rochell, who hasn't shown a damn thing but boy he sure does have upside wooo. Never know though, maybe year 3 he finally figures things out as he was raw coming in.
Tutu Atwell will become our starting 3rd WR by virtue of many articles in the off-season written of him ‘killing it’ and being ‘motivated’ and everyone will be be inspired and root him on here on ROD!
I mean, I'm not really expecting much from Bruss this year (and happy to be surprised!) but I'd wait on calling him a bust. The dude lost a whole year of development to an injury. He may need a year of seasoning before he can win a starting spot as last preseason seemed to point to a guy who needed a lot of technique work and who's head was swimming after kicking in to guard. None of that was probably addressed while he was on crutches and OTA's and training camp will probably not be enough to get him over the hump.Gotta add that If Bruss doesn't win that job at RG he's a bust. You're missing the point. I understand the guy got hurt. But the bottom line here is if an OG is going to be any good by year two you're gonna see it. This isn't TE. Also Shelton we know what he is. He is a marginal Center and a poor OG. So if this guy cannot beat Shelton out in year two he's simply not the guy they thought they were drafting.I mean, I'm not really expecting much from Bruss this year (and happy to be surprised!) but I'd wait on calling him a bust. He gets moved too much. He is too easily moved even in zone runs at OG, and in pass sets he caves in the pocket trying to handle power rushes. The guy gets the job done at Center but if he's our RG it won't be ideal.I don't know why everybody thinks Shelton is a lousy guard.
He was the best player by far against Buffalo and then he immediately went to center after that game.
I think he only played one more game at RG.
I didn't review that game so he must have had a terrible game that day for people to put him down as a RG.
Did you watch him in the Buffalo game? He was by far the best OL in that game especially on pass protection. He gets moved too much. I didn't rewatch that shit, no. Nor did I try to analyze it in any manner.Did you watch him in the Buffalo game? He was by far the best OL in that game especially on pass protection.
From what I understand, recovery from a torn achilles takes about 6 months but the long-term loss of strength and range of motion is more severe than other soft tissue injuries. Not sure if Noteboom will be healthy. The guy has been through a lot. A torn achilles must be a bitch to come back from, expecially for a lineman, who must push as hard as they can on that tendon. I know I'd be a bit concerned. And besides his achilles, didn't he tear up both his ACL and his MCL a couple years ago? They guy has to be getting a bit shell-shocked at this point.
I get it & with Jalen Ramsey gone it leaves a job opening.Oh, I don't know. I just don't like Kendricks.

Sorry I could be wrong but I don’t see AJax as the starting LT in 2024. I see a commitment to a top draft pick or perhaps trade to get what they need. That line to me is prob best case scenario for 2024 if McClendon really is the diamond in the rough that many think he is and Bruss can show well (I just haven't seen anything to make me think he's gonna be good but also, we don't have much to go on).

it has happened in the past and I'm sure it will again!@bubbaramfan and @VeteranRamFan will enjoy the beer tent so much they forget to take notes on the 1st day of camp.
