I'm a huge Badger fan to be clear. That said, here's my take.
RB- Why give what it will take (at least a 2nd or multiple 3rd's) with a cap hit on a devalued position when you could spend those picks on RB's (and this year's RB class will land you a good one)? It doesn't make franchise-level sense despite my high opinion of JT. Too much risk and little by way of cost-benefit analysis.

Burns- Totally different story given the value of players that can create pressure. I'll trust McSnead on this one and support whatever they decide. Young players who create pressure this early in their career don't grow on trees and are worth the draft capital and salary hit that accompany attaining them.

My $.02.

Sorry AR, but this is a business!!
I regret that I have but one username to give for my team.

Burns is damn good pass rusher, though, so I understand. :sunglasses:

Would you not give up a 1st and potentially a little more for elite production over the next 5 years?
I agree. If Burns could gain the bump in success by playing next to AD that others have seen, he could be a 15-20 sack guy

In that case, 2 first round picks and a hefty cap hit would be acceptable. Carolina should be 1-6 at the trade deadline. Just have to hope AD doesn't retire after winning a second Lombardi.

It's all about passing and stopping the pass. And right now, the Rams are paying 3 positions, well under the norm. LT, OLB, CB. For the next few years. Will it work out?

Impossible as that would require everyone here to actually agree on something. :laugh4:
And there’d have to be consensus on including me in the package, which would never happen because too many people would object, right?

Right….?

Why’d it suddenly get so quiet here?

Anyone…?:crying:

Agreed, But what if I told you, the Rams may have already drafted this player...... and his name, is Byron Young?

Zack Moss making you wonder how much Taylor's success is due to the amazing O-line they have/had

After three games, I find myself looking at it the way...

If the Rams were to make a splash move for a Taylor or Burns, that could be make the difference between competing for a playoff spot this year or going home early.

The question that I keep coming back to, though, is whether now (as opposed to 2021, when it made perfect sense, obviously) is the time to go for instant gratification at the cost of long-term foundation building?

Right now, my answer is "no."

I would like some help in the RB room. Nothing against Williams, who is a decent back and deserves playing time. He's just not someone who can carry the whole load.

Does it have to be Taylor? No.

Weather the storm this year and invest heavily during the 2024 free agent period for an elite EDGE, a top quality CB, and a competent ILB to pair with Ernest Jones.
Draft a LT or WR next year with our 1'st round pick, then a RB, a TE, and another Center/RG type with excellent skills.

I would disagree.

With Taylor, I think the Rams are 3-0.

Think Gurley-lite with Stafford at QB.

1st and goal at the 2? That’s automatic, imo.
