I thought it was good, no where as good as season 1 so I guess in that sense it was a disappointment. But I enjoyed watching it. Didn't have as much levity in it when exploring his quirks as season 1.
The opening episode was great, then it was all down hill.
If that was season 1, I'd have never watched a season 2.
So many plot holes/flaws, and the only actor who was actually good was the guy who played "Russo"
Alas, to each one's own

Started binging Letterkenny this past week. Am wrapping up season 6 so far. There are a few things about it I find highly annoying (their weird need to go through the characters saying different versions of the same insult/joke... sometimes it is funny and other times I'm just like jesus STFU!!!) but overall I find it hilarious. A good show to binge on my second monitor when playing a game or working, etc.
Finished Letterkenny, still a funny show to just mindlessly watch. Watching its spinoff Shoresy now which I might be enjoying more. If you happen to watch Letterkenny you'll be confused how a Shoresy spinoff happened lol. I was surprised when I found out there was one.

The Schweinfurt-Regensburg Mission will be featured in Masters of the Air

Although the raid caused heavy damage at both factories, 60 of the 376 bombers—about 1 in 6 of those dispatched—were shot down and more than 600 Airmen were killed, missing, or captured.

I gave it a shot and it just didn’t pull me in. Sort of had 24 vibes in that whatever happened in the episode assuredly meant in the next episode it would be undone.
That said, it was cancelled so there isn’t a season 2. Don’t know if it ended on a cliffhanger or not

First episode was really good. Makes me glad I never had to do what those guys did.
Tell me about it. Same thing watching anything D-Day related. Can't imagine surviving the landing, let alone all the shit that happens afterwards.

Also, if you haven't seen it, check out The Pacific sometime - especially the episode that takes place during the Battle of Okinawa. Just unbelievable brutality.

Heck yeah. Got the Blu-ray sets for Pacific and Band of Brothers. Reason why I've had my eye on Masters of the Air. You ain't kidding about the brutality...

Masters of the Air

Some of this could be considered spoilers , but considering the TV show is narrated by Anthony Boyle: Lt. Harry Crosby.

shouldn't be

Harry H Crosby

Born 1919 in New England , North Dakota , population 663

His family moved to Oskaloosa, Iowa when he was a child , Crosby enrolled in the literature program at the University of Iowa, but following the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, joined the Army Air Corps.

After the war , Crosby returned to the United States and re-enrolled at the University of Iowa, where he graduated with an MA in literature in 1947. He received his Ph.D. from Stanford and then came back to assume the position of writing supervisor for the rhetoric program at Iowa until 1958. From there, he moved to Massachusetts and served as a professor of literature at Boston University until 1984.

Never fully retired, Crosby continued authoring short stories and became the director of the Writing Center of Harvard University. In 1993, looking back on his letters and journals from World War II, he released his autobiography, “A Wing and a Prayer: The Bloody 100th Bomb Group,” which was seen as a tribute to the pilots, navigators, gunners, radiomen, and ground crews that made it home, and, more importantly, those that did not

Many of the scenes from Masters Of The Air are based off of Crosbys book , A Wing And A Prayer

By the end of the war, Crosby had flown 32 combat missions.

At least 42 Iowans served in the Bloody 100th

I knew I had an instant connection with Crosby , GO HAWKEYES !!!!!

Masters of the Air

Part II

this could be considered spoilers

On October 8, 1943, the 100th Bomb Group targeted the heavily defended German industrial city of Bremen. The amazing tale of survival of Crosby and his crew drew media attention. Here, he inspects the remnants of his navigator’s compartment after his B-17 crash landed

170214195034000000crosby_photo.jpg

"Leading a large formation of B-17s, we were hit hard over the target, spun out of control and saved from crashing by the superb efforts of our pilot and command pilot. With two engines knocked out, we were forced to head home alone at low altitude, our plane riddled by over 1,200 shell holes by actual count, one crewman mortally wounded and five severely injured. When we were attacked repeatedly by Luftwaffe fighters along the way, our gunners shot down ten of them. Unable to ditch in the North Sea because of our wounded or to make it to our own airfield, [we] crash-landed at a “dummy” airfield on the English coast."
