^ great info from JR. McVay admits he’s at fault for not properly utilizing TuTu.
But also that this setup and skill set for these guys are a better fit for his offense and what he wants to do - to fully maximize things (haven’t had recently).

I'm not gonna lie, I'm not upset the Rams signed tutu to come back like some people here obviously are.

He does his job well whenever his number is called.

Now, if only Stafford could throw the ball 5 yards further down the field. We saw it so many times with van Jefferson and now with tutu. So many tds wasted away.

At least tutu comes back to the ball and gets the dpi. Short balls to Jefferson were interceptions.

I look at all the positive posts and stats regarding Tutu, and cant help but think that if he was signed off another team's roster, I would be really psyched to see what McVay could do with a guy like that.
But then I remember that he's been a Ram for 4 seasons now and cant imagine how all of these skills have been missed, and like some epiphany came over McVay that he now knows how to use him
Alas, unconditional faith in McVay/Snead has rewarded me quite a bit these last 8 years, no reason to doubt it now
You're reading my mind, dieter, my thoughts EXACTLY.

Who gave you permission to listen to the voices in my head?

Puka is in AWH of Tutu Atwell. He says he wakes up a 4.29.. Never seen anything like it!!!

Tutu’s target rate is pretty good. I saw him in Training Camp going against Bobby Wagner which was pretty cool.Tutu showed toughness over the middle.Kupp was hurt?
It was the year before Puka.

- I also remember Stafford just launching balls in team scrimmage's up to TUTU and he would get behind the safety. There Atwell under the ball.

If The Rams can give Stafford just a little more time, lookout.

Those one plays per game look really nice when they're all bundled together in one video.

Let's hope Mcvay puts him on the field so he can make it happen multiple times a game.

Since he was drafted Tutu has proven to have the best hands in the Ram’s WR room.
Not a chance. Last year was the only year he qualified and showed up in the top 100 in the league in catch rate. And he was 2nd on the team behind Puka every other year Atwell has been on the team Kupp led the team by a big margin.

McVay yesterday at meetings talking about why they resigned Tutu -- interesting comments considering the back & firth among posters on Tutu, his production, lack of usage, etc.:

Coach Sean Mcvay, who was in Palm Beach for the NFL's annual league meeting, had a lot to say regarding the extension and what Atwell brings to the offense.
"I think when you look at his body of work, when he's been able to play – especially in some of the times that he was playing when Cooper was on IR – there was a lot of production," he said. "And if you project that over the course of 17 games, you just watch what he was able to do. He's matured as a young man. I love the person, getting to know him, and I think that he's only getting better. He's 24 years old. I thought he really improved his route detail. For a smaller guy, he's got a good catch radius."
That's certainly high praise and a lot to look forward to for Atwell in the upcoming season.
McVay went further in-depth regarding the body of work Atwell has been able to showcase and even briefly responded to fans who claim his usage rate is not high enough.
"He catches the ball outside of his frame really well," McVay continued. "He's an explosive player that people know about, so he creates separation. And I think there is some stuff that, I think the fans are accurate in that I haven't done a good enough job of utilizing him. When you look at the times when he's been able to play, whether that be because some people were out or not, he has produced, and he's delivered, and we're looking forward to seeing more of that ascension. And he's going to be on the field a lot more, particularly in a lot of those three-receiver sets where, when he's been on the field, he's done a really good job."

I'd say Tutu's hands are average or slight above average. Puka has the best hands currently. To be honest I don't feel like this has always been the strongest area for our receivers. Kupp was great at plucking the ball out of the air - but I remember him dropping a fair number of easy balls over his career.

The dude who had great hands for us was Robert Woods.
