Instead of the stupid Pro Bowl, they should have the teams slated in the top 5-6 picks battle it out for first pick of the draft. It’d be way more enjoyable and exciting to have a separate “playoffs” if you will. And maybe the caveat is those teams can’t trade those picks away or something. Just to incentivize the concept of these teams WANT to get the best possible pick.

Would have to say having a playoff like that would be HORRIBLE THOUGHT imo. How anyone could come up with an IDEA like that needs to be as Jim Rome use to do. Flush a toilet & get a tested. Now that the Hippy Leaf is legal coming from the illegals seems crazy.

Wow - it’s like trying to process my post. Doesn’t make any sense that I couldn’t even fathem the thought.
Holly Molly & amen for smart people.

Lol I never said it was my original idea and no one else has ever had the same/similar concept. It’s been thrown around before. If I missed someone else mentioning it already - my bad.

But I’d love to know, what makes it such an awful idea?

I despise the NBA lottery. Draft in reverse order of finish. Why is that a problem for anybody...?

I’d say it’s a GREAT IDEA. Them again we could make The NFL like gladiators.

Only reason for me is injury.

NFL as well & money.

It is a good read if your into Fantasy

I saw that and said “I don’t like that”.

Then, I thought it would be kinda fun / cool. Probably good games. Motivated to win. “I like it”.

I am back to…“I don’t like it”. Statistically it would mean the 6th ranked team likely wins the tournament. And that doesn’t reward the team with the worst record who most likely benefits the most from the top pick.

So for me, I’m out.

I think the bottom 16 teams should compete in an elimination tournament 3-legged sack race to set the order for the first 16 teams of the draft ... but I'm probably alone in this.

That, or a wet T-shirt contest between the hottest team wives/girlfriends.

Yeah like some said already it's a very rare draft a QB is considered a guarantee, if there is such a thing really, that it would be cause for concern. And of the two examples, the Bucs tanked for Jameis Winston lol. And the Eagles ended up trading 6th overall to the Dolphins who picked Jaylen Waddle and then subsequently traded back up with Cowboys to ultimately pick Devonta Smith. The Cowboys picked Micah Parsons with that pick... so ultimately the Eagles tanked to pick Devonta Smith when they traded out of two players who are better than him. It's just such an unknown that the success of tanking I'd say isn't worth even doing it let alone altering the draft process to try and avoid it. But like asshole face says it comes down to gambling so it'll probably happen.
Caleb Williams looks like as sure a thing as I’ve ever seen. Luck was like that.

Anybody who looks at the NBA's model and thinks it's superior is nuts. The NBA has a massive tanking problem, worse than the NFL's. Yet, the NBA has a lottery. A lottery does nothing to dissuade teams from tanking. The NFL's system promotes parity. They should retain it.

Agreed, his composure is as good as I can remember, he has size, and speed a good arm, goes through his progressions, and is very accurate on the run. He reminds me a lot of Mahomes

If the lottery in the NBA works, why does it seem that it’s always the same teams that are in the lottery? And when it’s not it’s due to a trade that allowed another team to be in the lottery. So if the lottery doesn’t work in the NBA where it can have the most impact, why even bother having it in the NFL where it will have minimal impact?

A lottery would be terrible for the NFL. If a team is bad and is unlucky with the lottery, it would take them forever to get better.
