That’s what I like. This team this year is full of talent. Might not see this many superstars on our team like this for years to come. I Belive it’s SB at home for us, me, and all ram brothers..

Be careful of what you wish for. One game at a time though. Rams match up better against Green Bay than Niners. I want Green Bay for the payback last year.
When push comes to shove, I'll take my chances against Jimmy G in our house over Aaron Rodgers at Lambeau.

I saw them win the whiners with 37 seconds to go.

There is a point here.

In all my football life I have never been so confused. Never.

I guess a good problem to have?

Lord help me.

As much as I HATE saying that(!). I will be rooting for the 49’s tomorrow when they play the Packers! I would just much rather see the Rams play at home against San Francisco in the NFC Championship Game than going to Green Bay to play the Packers!!

I’m rooting for the Packers.

its not hard - would you rather face jimmy G at our house... or Aaron Rodgers in -2 temp?
That's the card the Niners were dealt. It'll be worse for Garoppolo because of his thumb and shoulder injuries.

Tampa plays in a subtropical climate and they came up to Green Bay and won the NFC Championship last year. Warm weather and climate controlled teams can win up there. See if the forecast holds for next weekend but it doesn't look that bad.

It would be fun to knock out Brady in his own house and then do the same to Rodgers. That would be a legendary playoff run, the stuff they write songs and poems about. The Rams pull that off, no one will care or remember they went 0-2 against SF this year.

Brain says “gimme Jimmy”

Heart and soul says “Jimmy assumes room temperature tonight” - Packers win

From all that I researched, Walsh wanted to be HC & GM so they would've had to work that out because the Rams had their GM in Don Klosterman, but IMO, it was Carroll's son Steve Rosenbloom, that kept saying all George Allen does is win, however, they should have paid more attend to post season because Allen's record was worse then Knox when it came to the post season.

Again I was only 12 at the time, but through the years I have read different articles and IMO, CR (Carroll Rosenbloom) liked Walsh and he was number 2 on his list, but the record of George Allen and thinking that is what the team needed to get to the Super Bowl trumped his gut feeling.

The worse part is Allen & Rosenbloom were not a good match and Rosenbloom fired Allen after just two preseason games in 1978. So we ended up with Ray Malavasi instead of Bill Walsh and that has always bothered me through the years.
Yeah this.... good accurate info here. Plus another thing was the Rams liked the way Allen intensely despised and competed vs the Cowboys, who were always a threat to the Rams in the playoffs. (Allen wasn't very effective vs Vikings though, 0-3 vs them in playoffs)

At the time I was in my young teens and had picked USC as my favorite college team, though I wasn't big on college anything as I was with Rams and Lakers. I despised Stanford and considered them the crappy whiners of college. I always wanted USC to pound them. Didn't like the Irish or Huskies either. I thought Stanford was soft and Walsh was a soft coach. So I never really wanted him. I later figured it was a mistake to hire Allen after the listless preseason games and then his release. The Rams had been playing good in the preseason before then. Then I was lukewarm on Malavasi. I wanted a more proven head coach. But he did pretty good for a few years until the Rams bad drafts, top players who left and the Witch's bad decisions caught up to them.

If we win the Superbowl I'd be happy with any path it took to get there. However, my dream scenario is to demolish Tampa, Green Bay, and the Bills or KC. I want the Rams to go down as a historically strong Super Bowl winner. I want to beat Brady, Rogers, and either Mahomes or Allen. We're talking about the rest of our lives. I want to be talking about how the '21 Rams were one of the best I'd ever seen play for years to come.
Technically some will say if we play SF yes but you didn't beat GB and if we played GB they would say but you lost to SF 6 straight which includes 2 this year so it is a no win situation. To a degree it is luck because it depends on injuries more than anything. Who is the healthiest at a given moment especially if a major player gets injured. DHop imo really affected AZs run. GB is getting Smith, LT, Alexander and Cobb back that is huge for them.

I want the Niners to win for several reasons:

The weather GB is used to it we aren't.

The second week of travel.

GB I believe is a better team and they would be home.

It would be amazing to play at home in warm weather.

Also we get to beat the Niners which imo would be a hugely rated game for the country to watch.

I'd rather the Rams play Jimmy G, or his back up in Sofi, but I can't root for the 49ers. Let the Chips fall where they may. By the way, I'm not wishing Jimmy G ill. He is just beat up and has to play the Packers.

I didn't see that I just saw around 12 degrees at kickoff.
I think what you saw was accurate

I was watching NFL network and it said weather at kickoff - 10 degrees

They used the - meaning it as a : and not as a minus.

Still colder than a witch’s titty.

Yeah, there are always going to be naysayers. Beating future HoF QB Aaron Rodgers on the road or Jimmy G-String Garoppolo at home is one way to look at it.

Great info and again mine is based on more research, my reason for liking Walsh back then was because I always felt the Rams came up short offensively and I guess being 12 at the time did not notice that Stanford was soft, I just know they scored points and from an offensive perspective, gave teams some issues. Also Walsh had worked for Paul Brown, who I thought was a genius.

As to Ray Malavasi, thought he was really good defensively, but he always seemed befuddled and unorganized to me and did not have a look of a Head Coach (that was big back then), thus falling asleep during a radio interview for example. However, Ray could flat out coach defense I will give him that and offensively was less conservative then Knox, which Fred Dryer pointed out in an article I read years ago.

Not painful for me. If the 49ers win today, I will tip my hat to them.

Beating down the Bucs is all that's on my mind.

(watch the Chris Simms interview with OBJ)

Who and where the Rams play next weekend is not a concern for me.

After the Bucs, win next Sunday and then dominate in the Super Bowl

This is such a potentially extreme emotional swing.

On one hand, beating 9ers to advance to SB and end the streak is the greatest high….perfect scenario. Life is grand!

On the other side though, losing to them again or having 9ers vs. Brady for the NFC title is also sickening. I couldn’t handle either of these.
