I think Sean has found a shiny new toy to mold into his QB of the future in Mayfield. I'd be shocked if Mayfield isn't extended for 2 years.

I also feel that the Rams will make a push to get Burns this off season. The Panthers had to extend him on his 5th year option. The fact that they didn't at the same time extend Burns for multiple years is significant. The Panthers are cap strapped and IMO they would be in a more receptive mood after the season. Offer the Panthers this year's second (which will be in the top half of the round) and two first round picks via 2024 & 2025.

Hoecht is in reality a 3T behind Donald but as usual, Morris is playing him out of position. Morris is playing Jonah Williams at 3T when he's really a DE another genius move by Morris. The more I watch Morris play players out of position makes me wonder if he really knows his roster. IMO he doesn't and only knows his friends and simply plugs holes with whoever is handy.

Hoecht was playing in rotation with AD but when AD went out Morris moved Hoecht to DE. Hoecht has the makings of a pretty good 3T with speed and strength. He's the logical successor to Donald, so why is he playing at DE while Donald is out?

Yeah IMO the Rams are definitely still in their "all in mode".
I think what we will discover is that Baker is who we thought he was, a guy with limited athletic ability and sometimes questionable decision making. It was a great drive and a great story but coming in in the middle of the year is tough for anyone.
I don’t think backups really get to do a lot of head butting so I don’t think that’s what Baker is after.

They would need to pull cap space out of thin air or make some interesting moves to even be relevant next year IMO. This roster at full strength isn't even the best in our division at the moment. Not sure how they will shore up the OL, RB, TE, Edge and safety positions in one offseason, but we shall see.

I know I will get flamed for this, but it is just my opinion. Things fell perfectly into place for this team in last years post season, and it was GLORIOUS!! But let's be honest. If the Rams had not won that SB, and followed it up with this dumpster fire of a season, Les and his "F them picks" would be the butt of all jokes.

But they DID win that sumbitch, so the haters have to keep their shit eating mouths shut!! What an amazing story and season that was. I just think they are gonna need to be super creative to get back into the SB conversation, but who knows
If we’ve learned anything it’s that no one has any idea what next year will look like for anyone so it’s tough to say this team can’t be in the mix in the division. If you asked who’s more likely to win the division, the Cards or Rams, I think the rams are the pick. I don’t think we need to do anything crazy.

I could see Ramsey getting moved. I’m probably in the minority but the last couple seasons, all I see is a guy who is a fierce competitor and a great, physical tackler who loves to yap.

His cover effort is spotty and he has balance issues when the ball is in the air. Too expensive for this Rams fan.

I can see him following one of his main mentors (John Gruden) path.....coach for another 4 years or so, retire at 40 or 41 and come back a decade later.
maybe but gruden was 10 years older than him when he got fired in Tampa

McVay is so young.

ramsey is great at tackling people and is just so strong.

but ya his coverage down the field is not good the last year and a half.

Ramsey needs to regain focus on coverage and being a “shut down” CB again. That’s not, however, a reason to trade him, in my opinion.

The reason a trade could make sense is that, between the picks we’d receive and the money we save, we could potentially add two or three starters for the price of one. That’s worth considering, as I see it.

The Rams are incapable of going “all in” as it stands now. Even if they had 10 first round picks to trade, there’s no $$ to sign anybody. The Rams would basically have to trade away big contracts to create more.

…so the “who are you willing to deal” conversation begins. That is followed by the “who is willing to take on the huge contracts that comes with them”. While I have no doubt there would be a line of interested parties for any of the Rams mega stars if the price was right, not sure it is for many teams.

p.s.
Merry Christmas everyone

It is if you are a team that pays well but holds players to high performance standards.

So your saying he needs to be traded?

I think The Rams hold there players very accountable & move them when they think it’s for both the betterment of the player or team.

The goal should be to try to trade him yes, because once corners start slipping in speed it doesn't come back. Problem is you need two to tango. I am not sure what teams think of him value-wise so if it requires us to give something up to move him then I would transition him to safety.

I don’t see any big changes made. They’ll look at this year as an anomaly. It’s get healthy and go for it next year.

Now the following year, if things go crappy again in 2023, you could see some big time changes.

Burns would be fantastic, but we need to put whatever resources we assemble towards beefing up our OL. OL will have a ripple effect through the D, everywhere. We won't get past the Niners unless we do. The good thing is all our starters are so iffy we could likely go OL BPA for trades/FA.
The Panthers could still be a play off team this year......this will tell them they are not far off....why would they move Burns after not trading him when they were dead in water.
I think there is almost no chance they move him.

Two potential reasons, ... Carolina appears to be in a worse CAP situation than the Rams for 2023, and they don't yet have a starting QB under contract for next year.

I think Corral will be a starter for them. They just need a good HC in there who will recognize it.

Could be, but that Lisfranc injury can have a chronic affect, ... and for a starting QB ?
