I was reading an interview with Kurt about the movie and reporter says: “The Rams teams were great, but I think what you did with the Cardinals is even more impressive. Yet none of that story is in the film.” Kurt says something about not being able to get everything into a movie, some things have to get left out. But what struck me was the idea that his run with the Cards was more impressive.
Maybe I’m a homer but as historically bad as the rams were and to have a guy with almost no nfl experience take over in training camp and win the SB seems so unbelievable no one would ever make that movie if it weren’t true. However by the time Warner got to Arizona he had played in the biggest games in the sport and won every award, it was just a question of whether he could still do it. Getting back to the SB with the cards was impressive but getting there with the Rams was unthinkable.

What he did with the Cards wasn't more impressive. He came out of nowhere to win a Super Bowl and MVP. Going to another one with the Cards and losing? Nah.

If what he did with the Cards was so impressive, they woulda made a movie about that instead.

Warner's time with the Cards is no more than "oh by the way this happened next" during the epilogue scene...

Even had the Cards won, it wouldn’t have been nearly as impressive as what he pulled off with the Rams.

He was packing grocery bags one day, and the next took the helm when the starter went down and proceeded to produce one of the best seasons ever.

Winning the SB was icing on the perfect cake.

if this movie makes enough money (i doubt it) they can make a sequel. the story after the rams won the superbowl is better and much more intriguing than the story before that.

it has everything. the most explosive offense the nfl has ever seen (2000), getting cheated out of a superbowl by those cheating fucks (2001), the implosion and injury in 2002, the drama between martz and brenda late 2002, martz putting warner to the sword in the first game of the 2003 season, oblivion for a couple of years, martz cutting warner only after every team is set at qb 2004, becoming a running joke by jerks in the media while playing for awful offenses in new york and arizona 2004-2006, everyone giving up on him and probably hitting the rock bottom in his career 2005-2006, the resurgence when whisenhunt arrived in arizona 2007, back to elite status in 2008-2009, taking the cardinals to the superbowl but just falling short.

getting kicked down but never giving up and rising once again. i'd pay to see that in a movie.

They could've extended the fim to include a move to the Cardinals and ulitimately coming up short on another ring with them.
What kind of ending would that be though?

Whether or not Kurt likes it or not, his success is synonymous with the Rams.
That's the story.

Sounds like 2 sequels for a trilogy.

The 2nd is the "empire strikes back" where it ends with Emperor Palpatine and the bad guys (the Patriots but also the Rams I guess??) on top and the protagonist loses his hand at the end as Darth Martz exclaims "Kurt! I am your Daddy".

Of course Kurt Skywalker (or Shelfstocker ) has already lost his wise elderly mentor Obi Dick Kenobi at the end of the first film "A New Hope". But he isn't alone. He has his weird love interest who might be his sister (Brenda Laia) and he gets lots of help from Han Proehlo and Lando Paceresian. C-3PHolt and R2-DBruce (the real hero if you pay close attention) are there as well, but he loses Faulk Yoda, the greatest Jedi of all.

In the 3rd movie, Return of the Grocery Store Guy, Han Proehlo has been frozen in carbonite and Kurt Shelfstocker has went his own way and turns his back on the Rambellion. He goes to the desert planet of Arizona where he almost saves the world (championship) with Fitzbaca and some ewoks but ultimately comes up short. Evil Emperor Belichick continues to dominate the galaxy for another 2 decades while the Rambellions planet of Saint Louissant is destroyed.

Ok, that 3rd movie really sucks.

But that was not the last movie (Disney buys it) and the remnants of the Rambellion relocate and rebuild on their home planet of Ellayy, where they are again defeated by the Emperor and his favorite weapon, the Douche Star (Tom Brady, obviously. )

Ok the 4th film sucks too.

But the 5th one? That ones gonna be the best!

Fuck the cards.

I know some will really want to see this movie. I have to say though... I don't have any interest in watching it. For me... there is just no way it will tell the story of what really happened. I lived through it. It's like when they try to make an amazing book or series of books into a movie... it ain't the same. There's just no way that a sports story can be told properly on the big screen for me. Plus... the football scenes don't look realistic to me.

I'll go back up on my porch now and wait for the next trespasser that steps foot in my yard.

The football scenes do look really bad. It looks gloomy, but then again the stadium looked like that as well in person.

Regardless of what people may think about Warner and his view on the Rams, he's a good dude. I will support that any day regardless of what someone thinks of their time on a team I root for. I also heard that he had a pretty big part on how this film would play out. He didn't want to release it to just anyone and have them say whatever.

I dunno man, the football scenes I have seen look pretty legit. Especially the Barnstormers clips. THe only beef I have with it is that the numbers are too damn small on the jerseys.

They must have bought the jerseys on the Rams NFL site. Huge mistake lol, small numbers were on two jerseys I bought and why I don't use them any more.

The 3rd film is strictly a family drama as Kurt and the Warner kids cope with Brenda's hairstyles.

Stealers WR never got both feet down, the NFL didn't want them to win. Penalties were very one sided on that game.

that and during the 100 yard int return for a td the refs decided to ignore maybe 4 pushes in the back which stopped players from tackling that lumbering lber. how else was he able to jog 100 yards.

I remember at halftime, they cut to an interview with Mike Holmgren, who had played against the stealers in a previous superbowl as the seahawks coach. The look on his face told us everything.

Yes, another person who refers to them as the stealers.

Looks like a made for tv movie from the preview. Too bad. It's a remarkable story about a man with actual character.
