The Rams dumped him off to another team to clear space this year and most importantly next year.

...
I agree with most of your post and the sentiment it reflects.

With one exception. According to both Spotrac and Over-the-Cap, the Rams get no 2023 cap relief; and the trade actually costs them about $3M of additional cap space in 2023.

Hoping both sites are wrong but guessing they're not.

Fuck that I'll be on my couch watching ever game and enjoying the fuck outta them regardless of outcome like we all have for decades. Are people really not going to watch? They have a name for that kind of fan and I have a hard time believing you or many many others around here are that kind of fan.
I'll be right there watching every moment too, as I was during the '16 & '07-09 seasons to name a few recent BAD years.

Let me explain the facts of life to you…

You take the good
You take the bad
You take them both
And there you have
Two Super Bowls
Lol.....come on man, did you not see my lol at the end of my last comment? I'm just making fun of the ripped off part just to poke fun at your comment for shits and giggles. I'll play along though, facts of life, eat too much taco bell, shit your guts out.

Per OTC, even with $73.8M of projected cap space in 2024, that only puts the Rams 13th in most cap space.
Doesn't matter where they rank. What matters is the money AVAILABLE AND the FACT L.A. is a popular destination. Or at least it will be in 2024. But some smart players may want to get a foot in the door this year.

No. I’ll be watching but I’ll be playing more golf on the weekends too. No sense in planning my whole day around the game though. But I’ll be ready to obsess again in 2024.

2023 is the year to pick up new hobbies, reconnect with your bunny and take that extended trip to the Mediterranean. Come back in February 2024 refreshed and ready for the biggest baddest FA/Draft season (arguably) ever for the Rams.
I'll take the Mediterranean. A lot of great islands, beaches, food, history. Could watch some European "football." Paris St Germain has Messi and Mbappe. Bayern is always good. Maybe catch an NFL game on a sidetrip to Munich. Only issue is the notorious drunken Brits.

This is a move to allow us to reload over the next couple of seasons.
People thinking we will be able to gather all the assets needed to make a deep playoff run in 24 alone are a little overly optimistic.
This is a move that will likely take beyond the24 season

That's not really accurate. It's a little naive. Free agents almost always go where the money is greater.
Middle of the pack in cap space is good but it's not as good as having the most cap space.

Well, he really was not the guy we thought we were getting. If it was gonna be more of the same then I suppose its not a bad thing. Should create even more cap space next year? I hope.

I think Jefferson should be given every opportunity to show what he can do. He's got the skills to be a solid WR2. This also likely creates more opportunity for Tutu Atwell. He showed flashes last year. Speed. Ability to track down the deep throws. And decent hands.

In what is perceived to be a throw away year maybe those guys can give us something to look forward to if they decide to extend Jefferson.
How do they know if he was that guy or not? They never used him they way you would expect and Stafford hardly ever looked at him anyway. I thought they should’ve kept him since they’re paying a good chunk of his salary anyway.

So we should expect the teams with the most cap space to do the best this year? Should be some happy Bears, Panthers , Colts and Texan fans this year!!!

It does amaze me how so many here persevered from 2005 through 2016, but now act like 2022 & 2023 (if they do struggle) is like Armageddon for them.

If 23' sucks, it shall pass. And if they do suck, the brightside will be a high pick and the potential to mortgage another draft for a top caliber rookie QB.

I don't get it. Why would the Rams pay $10 million not to have Robinson, versus paying $15 million to have him? What am I missing?

Haven’t you been paying attention? We just moved up SEVERAL spots in the 7th round!
