Yes, our team has weaknesses against more physical teams, but our coaching staff could have put a game plan together to compensate.

12-personal with screen passes, for example. Short zones with safety help. Tight man with robbers, etc...

I'd just like to see more creativity, that's all.
I get your point. There are things I had rather see. Like less empty and 4 wide sets and
getting back to running the jet sweeps and misdirection and play action passes out of 11 and 12.

But the bottom line is if your team doesn't put in the effort, it really doesn't matter what you
run. Nothing will change until the team plays a lot more physical and with more urgency.

I think Shelton should have taken Allen's guy and Allen should have helped Noteboom and Edwards
From what I've watched since the game and what I remember during I really think most of our o-line problems come down to this. I don't know if it's communication issues during play, calls before snap being bad, or just unfamiliarity with each other still (probably a bit of all really) but a lot of the issues would have been diminished with better teamwork I think. Not ALL of the issues by any stretch but a lot of them... enough that our offense would have at least functioned to be competitive.

I feel like there's enough to work with there with time... of course now we have two players out for 2-4 weeks so not sure how that'll effect things. I'm pretty high on Jackson and Anchrum so am excited to see how they perform though. We went up against probably the number 1 defense in the league so we can't be worse right? lol

i wonder if edwards triggering the silent count snaps distracts him maybe let sheldon try it. edwards seemed better last year and i don't think he was doing the silent count.

Raheem Morris really was dialed in after No win November, but his default defense drives me insane. I hope he gets another HC gig and we can get a young, AGGRESSIVE DC.

Last comment from me on this game. It was 10-10 at the half, if BP either doesnt return the 2nd half kick, or gets a great return ,maybe this thing is different....Ok lets beat the dirty birds....

interesting to look at but if you could take film from every game this week and the QB is probably missing 5 wide open guys regardless of final numbers.

Stafford didnt play well - but the 0-line destroyed this offense in both phases.

I wonder if the Shanahan/ McVay offense is becoming so common that defenses are just too accustomed to it now. A lot of teams run it nowadays

The Bengals O struggled, the Packers O struggled, the Niners O struggled, and of course the Rams O struggled.

Now sure, there are more obvious reasons for the Niners to struggle, but the teams that are likely more influenced from the McVay version of that scheme, have great QBs and all three looked like shit this week.

Just reminds me of how the Martz offense seemed to get figured out or at least no longer was as unpredictable as it first seemed to be after a few seasons.

Just a thought.

Problem is that system has been used long before mcVay picked up a playbook. So I don't think it's that. I think part of the problem is the Rams only do certain things well now. I think our Oline is limited at best and our RB situation isn't the best. So with that said we have to find different ways to win. Time will tell

True, but it evolves and I am sure what they are doing now is a lot different than what Mike Shanahan did 20 yrs ago. Heck McVay is a lot different than what Kyle does in SF.

Just pointing out the teams running a more similar O to McVay's, struggled. Although I failed to point out that Minnesota did okay.

Vikings O seemed ok against what was touted as a top D

Let's be honest.... how long since we've seen any surprises in this offense?

Where is the presnap motion and the reverse/fake-reverse threat that used to be a staple of this offense?

We've seen stinkers from McVays Rams before. This one was just on the opener for a change.
Im concerned like everyone else but I have a lot of faith in this team to figure it out.

Losing more and more offensive coaches and assistants every year has to take its toll. McVay is human and sometimes gets out schemed. This game was definitely an example of that.

I'm not criticizing McVay, but did anyone seem to notice that the Rams ran the ball up the middle for practically no gain on almost every first down? I'd like to see some sweeps tossed in and maybe even a shovel pass to keep the defense guessing.

And the one sweep toss got Henderson 10+ yards.
