Maybe he is a future starter, maybe not.
Okay, are you trying to take my position as the wet blanket thrower/ pessimistic member here @ ROD...:biggrin:

If Alaric Jackson is not a solid starter this OL for 2023 the Rams are in serious :crap:. Rare here, but I disagree with you on the value & status of Alaric Jackson.

I hope he develops to that point. No idea if he will or not.
Perhaps the first test for him would be to not fall apart after a few games of action. If you can't play, you have no value.
Once again I have seen more than enough development of Alaric Jackson in his 2 NFL seasons. I will have to disagree with your above statement. I never saw any of Jackson's on-field play the last 2 seasons match your description of "would be to not fall apart after a few games of action."

The 2022 Rams starting OL went into the Bills game with none of the starters having any preseason action. That was bad enough but the bad stuff began in that 1st game. Both starting Center Allen & LT Noteboom did not finish the first Bills game un-injured. Causing RG Shelton to shift out of his starting RG post to fill in for the once again injured Allen at Center.

Anchrum who had zero game experience entered the Bills game to play RG for Shelton. Jackson took a series @ LT for the injured Noteboom. This was just the first game fearsomefour.

The BAD kept coming..2nd Game top reserve swing OG is now starting @ RG that's Anchrum broke his leg on the first play of the 2nd game & thus joined RG Logan Bruss on the IR. Carberry was forced to send in his best reserve OT Alaric Jackson to start his first game in the NFL @ RG. First time playing OG (College/NFL).

Meanwhile, in the 3rd game starting center Shelton was injured on the first play & was replaced with Jeremiah Kolone in Kolone's first NFL start @ center.

Onto the 4th game..starting LG David Edwards suffered a concussion. The Rams new starting LG was Bobby Evans. Rams starting 3 interior posts were now operated by a 3rd string OC{Kolone}, a 3th string RG {Jackson} & a 4th string LG {Evans}.

Onto the 5th game ....Before the 5th gms Rams signed WWC's OG Oday Aboushi & OC Matt Skura as reserves. First-series LG Edwards departs from concussion & Bobby Evans fills in for the rest of the game. Edwards is placed on IR and never plays again.

6th gm Joe Noteboom injured his Achilles early in 2nd quarter Alaric Jackson replaced Noteboom @LT. Aboushi moved into RG. When the 2nd half began the Rams OL had only one original starter standing. Jackson was playing next to Bobby Evans with Kolone @ OC.

Alaric Jackson was the Rams starting RG for five gms. Jackson started next to 3 different centers, When LT Noteboom blew out his Achilles & Jackson was then flipped to the left side to LT for 4 gms he played next to Bobby Evans:scream:. Ty Nsekhe replaced Jackson late in gm 9 & He never played again in 2022.
I see Jackson as a Ram OL'er in very good standing after going through the above OL :crap:show.

God forbid a player tweet out honest thoughts. I forgot they're supposed to be robots.

I'd rather hear a players honest thoughts than a coaching lying through there teeth with coach speak.
Nothing wrong with tweeting but to me, it's dumb after a certain point. I like the part of saying we have good people in the room, but to list who's starting or not... that's just too much and a good way to piss off teammates. Hopefully he doesn't look silly if he ends up not starting too, but he's young so I'm not super surprised either lol

I do like Jackson's potential to be a good starting lineman. In fact, I'd prefer him over Noteboom at left tackle. Not sure blood clots could classify him as an injury prone player. I do know Noteboom is injury prone.

But these tweets are something to keep an eye on when training camp hits. Not sure we can compare to any other similar situations because there are no similar situations that we know of.

If I put it out there where everyone could read about what I prefer to see in my co-workers, some would be fine with it. But I doubt all would be fine with it.

He has himself playing RG? IMO A@ Jackson was & is The Rams best RG that I said all last season.
Mcvay praised Anchrum & said of all the injuries he wishes Anchrum could have stayed healthy or taken advantage of his opportunity. He was The Rams Man of The Year. Maybe there is something there.

I’ll still keep on the record Arcuri will improve a lot in the Offseason. Then again he might be too square ? Meaning needs to use his hands more.I think he footwork is good.

The only rule these guys talk about having is you don’t discuss another guys money. I don’t think they’ll have an issue with what he said. If somebodies feelings are hurt they should step up and prove him wrong but I’m not sure they’d have any issue.
I think you're right.
I sure wouldn't care what some back up said if I were a starter.

I disagree. He's an OL talking about OL play. It's more akin to a chef opining on how the kitchen should be structured (who should be head chef, sous chef, on the line, etc.).
I was talking slotting who should play where (coaches) and the need for deals to be redone (GM), not the other players.

He broke down after 5 games.....my point exactly.
He looked ok at both G and LT.
Not great and not sure he is a starter, but, he was solid. Better than expected certainly.
Im not saying he is bad and Im not saying he doesn't have a future, but, we have no idea how good he can be.
I would expect him to be in the mix for either the LT or one the starting RG job next year.
But, Im not ready to crown him anything yet except, what he has been....a guy the coaches felt unsure enough about to play multiple players in front of him. Then got injured after 5 games.
I don't hold the injury against him, but, time will have to tell for Jackson.

I mean Edwards is a free agent there's a very good chance Jackson is the starting LG
Could well be.
I do wonder about the severity of Edwards concussions....to miss 3 + months he must have really scrambled his eggs.
He (Jackson) will have to earn it in camp, he didn't do enough this season to warrant it.
Hopefully other competition is brought in.

Yeah it's a huge red flag to me. Let somebody else sign him and hope for the best for him.

I just hope the dude is ok.
Haven't heard a peep about him and haven't seen him on the sideline.
Doesn't mean he hasn't been there but I haven't seen him.
I think he should retire before he really does some damage to his head

I do not want to see any more suicides from players in their 40s who suffer from that brain malady

Who knows what his concussion history is or what his current state is.
Certainly is concerning however.

@fearsomefour I would not consider having blood clots an injury. I would be concerned about his availability.
True, but the Alaric Jackson knee injury did occur & over a week later after further tests on the knee the blood Clots were discovered.

Jackson remained on the active roster short of 2 weeks with the knee injury then he was placed on the IR. I am sure that the IR was due to the concern on the Blood issue not the knee injury but I have no evidence of this though.

As I recall, he hurt the knee but returned to the same game. Then, the next week they discovered the blood clots and that is what took him out.

I don’t see anything detailed how serious the knee was.
