I love that he put himself above Boom. Fucking epic. I mean I'm pretty sure 99% of Rams fans would agree with that statement. Being Boom has been a huge bust thus far.

HIs "first" original projection was AJ at LG and Boom at LT. Then he went onto other scenarios. So I don't think he was dissing on him. Consider me in the 1%.

I think Jackson is mostly right. It would help to bring in a talented draft pick and maybe a veteran utility OL (if we don't keep Nsekhe). But I do think Noteboom-Jackson-Allen/Shelton-Shelton/Anchrum/Bruss/Other-Havenstein can be an effective OL. There's some competition needed, but we got wrecked by injuries this year. I think the OL could have been good if it gelled.
GMs set the roster.

Coaches coach.

Players play.

None of them should tweet.
It's a free country. I have zero issue with a player speaking his mind on football. If we can do it, why not him?

Boom's issues are with injuries. If he's healthy, I'd play him at LT. He can be an above average player at the position. Von Miller gave him the business, but Von Miller gives a lot of guys the business. I thought Boom handled himself well after Week 1.

You seem to be confusing “should not” with “should not be allowed to.”

I never asserted the latter.

God forbid a player tweet out honest thoughts. I forgot they're supposed to be robots.

I'd rather hear a players honest thoughts than a coaching lying through there teeth with coach speak.
It’s not about them being robots. You wouldn’t tweet about how you think your company’s corporate structure should be. Like I think so and so should be a manager. Obviously you can but not a great idea. It also opens up the follow on questions if the roster doesn’t shake out this way.

I did not see the Same boom you saw then. Because the boom I saw was terrible in run and pass pro...

He was ranked 25th out of 32 LT's into 5 games.
Also allowed 5 sacks in those 5 games. Not sure what film you're watching but he was anything but decent or even dare I say, good.

I didn't confuse anything. You speak your mind about the Rams. Why shouldn't Alaric Jackson? He didn't trash any teammate.

I tweet about work-related shit all the time.

Sure, let me clarify what I watched. The games.

It's his opinion. If the organization or the players have an issue, I'm sure they'll let him know. I can't fault the guy for speaking (or typing) his mind.

I love him too. Straight shooter.

He's got more lead in his ass than Boom and he knows it. Boom is still susceptible to power. He's way better than what he was, granted. But head to head yes Jackson is the guy I think.

Larger problem is the guy stacking the roster has to treat both with some question. You can't call that position done because of those two, it's moreso "well I think we have enough there" and maybe you end up again with both hurt and disappointing play on the edge.

Because doing so can be divisive and undermine the coaching staff and GM.

And you did confuse the issue by asserting “it’s a free country.” That is entirely irrelevant.

LOL. I didn't confuse anything. I used a cliché to set the stage for my point. He didn't say anything divisive, and he didn't undermine the coaching staff or GM. The man can state his opinions. If they're out of line, criticize him for it. Otherwise, let him be.

AJax put himself in the limelight now so it’s time to shine. Let’s start with him helping to get ALL of the Rams OL working out together off-season like Whit did. They’ve got more time to recover and improve this off-season but they need some real leadership and maybe a kick-ass vet to add some juice.

Did Jackson just take a shot at Allen and Shelton at Center?

I totally agree with him, as I think that's our biggest weakness.

A stud Center could instantly upgrade the two guard spots next to him.

Even if we have to draft one and sit him for half of the year.
Even better if that Center can also play Guard.

Shelton and Allen would make excellent backups however.

Really, really dumb idea from Jackson.
So, we can count the number of games he has played in on one hand and he is slotting starters (including him, shocking) and backups and saying deals need to be restructured.
If I were the GM I would bring him in to talk about what lane he needs to stay in and depending how the conversation goes, I may invite him to piss off.

For the same reason I can't post on social media about my work and not expect possible blow back.
Talking about locker room issues (starter/backup roles, salaries, redoing deals etc) in a public forum can certainly create team issues inside the locker room.
I don't think he was dissing anyone and I didn't read it that way. Doesn't really matter.
He needs to stay in his lane and shut up.....at least until he can prove himself to be more than a backup that can't stay healthy.
