oh yeah but I meant college coach, Kiffen, exact same system as Dart.
Played for Kiffin, yes. Same system? Absolutely not. Kiffin ran more of a hybrid read option/spread with Cassel and turned over the play calling and offense to Charlie Weis jr for most of Dart's career

We def see Dart and his ecosystem differently, even what weight to put on the above.

Will be interesting to see what happens with the guy. The thing that sucks - in my mind - is that he absolutely has to go to the right situation for him to become a regular starter in this league, let alone a good one.

I bet we can probably can agree on that.

And I just don't think there are many of those situations available to him. And then, I think there's a lot of guess and hope work on him improving.

I think Dart being able to sit back and learn for a year or two from McVay/Stafford and even Garoppolo would be an absolute rock star.
I think Dart as a day 1 starter for many of the teams ahead of the Rams could be an abject disaster

Really starting to lean something like this towards the draft tbh. It's starting to feel our direction and potential talent that'll be there.

@den-the-coach what's your opinion about Cody Simon? He seems like a pretty good 6th round get. He's not dynamic but he seems efficient and can rush effectively if needed.

Solid all the way around, good tackler can cover to a degree and is an outstanding leader. Simon is all about we not me and would be an excellent addition to the ILB room. Chris Paul is my first choice because he excels in coverage, but if the Rams draft Simon, he will be an outstanding pro IMHO.

He’d be my choice for a first round corner. He’s an absolute unicorn of a corner. In my opinion, if he were healthy, he’d be a guaranteed top fifteen pick.
Always hesitant of those coming off major injuries in college.

Outside of the obvious things it’s time away from experience and reps.

Curious to see how he turns out.

I really like Belton. He would be my pick for a LT out of this draft.
I just don’t see him getting by the 9ers at #75 if he’s still on the board—ANYBODY but the 9ers. He would be ideal for them.
…but if Belton SHOULD be there in the 3rd, I will be screaming for the Rams to take him. He could hopefully develop the ability to play both sides and be the swing guy this season. He would be starting on one side or the other by ‘26.

Yeah those Lisfranc fracture are no joke either! Had one and took about 3 years for it to heal right tbh, and that was after surgery too. POS's! OFC the idiot coaching and FO doesn't help as the new regime will clear house as per usual.
A Lis franc injury destroyed Chen Ming Wang’s baseball career. He injured it running the bases during an interleague game. That’s why I couldn’t believe the Rams drafted Barrett Jones. That can be a serious injury and it can take years to heal.

Today Brugler said some teams see Hampton as being very close to Jeanty. He said he could see Dallas picking him at 12

It wasn’t a pro style offense. It wasn’t much different than what Kiffin has run for years and the majority of the time Dart was a one read and run type of QB in a simplified College offense.

Yeah, that injury is a huge concern

I didn’t say it was a pro style offense. It is quite different, Weis has more Ehrardt influence, and downfield throws where Cassel ran more of shorter route/ more yac type. Either way, you’re clearly dug in on your opinion so we can just agree to disagree

I'd be really surprised to see him go in the 1st, however it'll make things pretty fucking exciting!
There is a lot of smoke around him these days. Early mention of him as a 2nd round pick brought out detractors and now he's talked about in the first. Game tape is very good though I'd love him on the Rams.

IMO McVay IS going to grab a WR burner in this draft to help in that 11 personnel, something Tutu hasn't been able to do. There is a lot that fits that mold.
