It’s a mock draft, so you have to work with what’s left on the board.Sure.
I guess I’d just be looking at other body types in Dline at that point. I want another guy who can disrupt passing game.

Just the way I usually come to conclusions( trends and percentages.) Since 2017 Sean Mcvay/Snead have been together the CB's they've drafted:Corbin,
Why don't you think the Rams will go CB early in the draft?
I'm not satisfied with what we have now and don't think we would want to overpay for one in FA.
What your line of thought on this?

Makes total sense to approach it this way.. past decisions/patterns.Just the way I usually come to conclusions( trends and percentages.) Since 2017 Sean Mcvay/Snead have been together the CB's they've drafted:
2019 David Long 3rd
2021 Robert Rochelle 4th
2022 Kobie Durant 4th
2022 Derion Kendrick 6th
2023 TreVious Tomilson 6th
Just like coordinators and quality control guys do on the staff they follow percentages and trends. Obviously looking at those 5 draft picks since 2017.
Same reason I don't think they'll pick a top flight Center this draft with 4 pretty damn good ones. We seen with Kelce retiring in Philly what a amazing center can do for a line with accurate and legit protection calls, cohesion with a QB to give him time to digest other things like coverage and alignment, and actually being a mauler. Sigh...
Just don't think they value the positions in the draft.
I think Sweat is va vita vea type. So I probably value him differently.I get that.. that's why I'd be looking for a Brown-type value to develop. 4th-5th round.. not second.
I don't think they've exploited anything, it's as simple as being very honest where you are, what's available and what you need to do to get to a level to compete at the highest tier. But part of their overall approach has also been to exploit market inefficiencies... and they were ahead of the curve. Sure, they paid a lot for Jalen and Stafford.. but subsequent trades trying to copy the Rams approach showed an even higher cost in draft capital, it seems. Maybe I'm wrong there.
The assumptions around here not a good measuring stick as most can't find their ass with their hands already on their hamstrings. Pretty obvious stuff and some will fight you tooth and nail and then cry foul when you point things out afterward or present numbers or facts that dispute the contrary. So, where do they go?
If we look at some assumptions around here.. the Rams wouldn't draft a Guard in the second round.. yet, that's what they did. And it was the second year in a row they used their first draft pick on an interior offensive lineman.
Patterns are always relevant, in the business world for investments, in tactical planning, in NFL leadership, this is why they spend a lot of money on pattern recognition. Hell Michigan just got in trouble for having someone on their staff that did that exact thing in the Corps. My point is that I don't know how relevant the previous patters are within the current model.
I find it very, very, VERY interesting that they didn't try to get Chase Young or Montez Sweat. It's one of the reasons I'm convinced they're going all in in FA for Hunter or whoever the other top Edge may be. They want to keep draft picks.
Honestly I think it's likely they will trade down unless a prospect they covet stat dropping. Is it a 100% they get a QB? No. But I feel this draft corps of QB's if one they like starts dropping in the teens they'll pull the trigger to move it and get him.My assumption, based on history.. is they'll trade back. BUT... they have, I think, 11 picks this draft? Including likely comp picks? It might be 10.. that's a lot of picks already.. maybe they stay in place.. they could end up with 4 picks in the top 100 if Raheem gets a job.. that's a good start. I don't like that they have to wait til the 5th to pick again. So.. we'll see if they go backward in the 1st or second.
This is the year Snead will start building groups as a strength and complete unit as he's talked about many, many times in the past. OFC depending on what we do in FA.If they got even close to the amount of success with their first 3 picks that they did this year.. plus a good FA class.. they'll be cooking.
?I think Sweat is va vita vea type. So I probably value him differently.
Which sweat ? T'vondre ??
Vea's a 350 defensive tackle... Sweat's an edge? What am I missing?
I think you're right lol these threads can be hard to follow.I'm thinking Montez Sweat is getting confused with T'Vondre Sweat here? T'Vondre (the Texas DT) is a 6'4 362 monster. He is no edge.
Oh geez.. I let go of the rope. I thought it was a Josh Sweat reference... my bad.Which sweat ? T'vondre ?
The flaw in that thinking is leaving Ramsey out of the equation. They spent 1sts on a CB. When you have Ramsey, and don't have 1st round and sometimes 2nd round pick drafting a CB in the 3rd is a high pick.Just the way I usually come to conclusions( trends and percentages.) Since 2017 Sean Mcvay/Snead have been together the CB's they've drafted:

I still like McCarthy, but I believe if the Rams extend Wentz I am fine waiting on QB and focusing on Edge or CB. I believe the Rams will sign an edge in free agency, so CB in round one and then go from there. The Athletic has an interesting mock up. Way too early of course to read into it when so many positions are dependent on workouts for that top slotting, but those bastards have us taking @den-the-coach's boy JJ McCarthy.
Snippet of Rams picks:
19. Los Angeles Rams: J.J. McCarthy, QB, Michigan
Going into Aaron Rodgers’ age-36 season, the Packers made a forward-thinking pick and drafted their quarterback of the future (Jordan Love) in the back half of Round 1. Going into Matthew Stafford’s age-36 season, the Rams might be in a position to follow the same approach. Who knows when Stafford will hang ’em up, but with his injury past, the Rams at least need to consider it.
There is a wide range of opinions on McCarthy’s projection and draft value. Michigan didn’t ask him to consistently push the ball downfield, but he was outstanding on money downs and will have the word “winner” bolded and highlighted in his scouting report (27-1 career record with a national title). Though I think he’ll have mostly second-round grades, McCarthy’s tools and intangibles could get him into the top 25.
All good man. Easy miscommunication thereOh geez.. I let go of the rope. I thought it was a Josh Sweat reference... my bad.
I'm prepared to run and hide for saying this, but I think Dejean is strictly a safety.Yeah they had Dejean and Kool-Aid both off the board after our pick too. Bastids.
Wiggins too I'm guessing.Yeah they had Dejean and Kool-Aid both off the board after our pick too. Bastids.
Racist.I'm prepared to run and hide for saying this, but I think Dejean is strictly a safety.
