McVay needs to reach out to Andy Reid to pick his brain about how to beat that 49ers defense and have Morris pay attention to what Spags did.
The Rams defense held the 9ers offense to fewer points.McVay needs to reach out to Andy Reid to pick his brain about how to beat that 49ers defense and have Morris pay attention to what Spags did.
That's not the point. It's simply to get ideas on how to attack them and what works. I get we have different personell but just to brainstorm. The Chiefs were the first team to see the Whiners with CMC so it wouldn't hurt for him to pick Spags brain. My mistake for not putting the brainstorm part. I got screaming kids around me too lolThe Rams defense held the 9ers offense to fewer points.

Agree there as the offense is really what has held us back in those Whiner games. However, we should try a few wrinkles in there to try to help change the outcome as these bastards have had our number lately.I get what you're saying.
But what works for Spags and that D comes, in part, from knowing the O will go get 30. Taking more risks is fine.. they even talked about that in the broadcast today.
We need the O and D to both step up.
Defense absolutely has to stop the loose coverage BS that gives Jimmy the easy completions. Force him to throw deep. Send some blitzes and overloaded rush pressure like Spags did. Force turnovers. This is opposite to how Morris likes to largely play the game but he really has to think outside the box and stop simplifying the defense so much.
The Offense has to do as described above. Jet sweeps, screens etc to neutralize the pass rush. Some of that counter play action stuff that we used to beat the Niners defense with. If we could put up 30 with Goff I am sure we can do it again with nice results. In that game it was heavy use of Higbee but it doesn't matter who the target is as long as we force the defense one way and roll the QB the other while providing a blocker in front for their counter rush.
I fear that with the Niners losing two straight and below .500, they will be more motivated to NOT lose 3-straight. Their backs will be against the wall and will come out with intensity. I will be surprised if we match their intensity and win. For some reason, they find a way to step up against the Rams. Sigh.
