Not sure I agree with that.
That’s ok. But my personal view is that it should be egregious before it goes past being a penalty. That didn’t look intentional or egregious, so I don’t think it warranted a fine. It’s not like he speared him. It looked unintentional.

As stupid as it sounds, I hope we keep both kickers throughout the year; and then let them fight in TC next year to see who wins the job for 2026. I don’t want another Dicker situation. Karty has talent. This new may too but it’s still TBD.
They would never activate both on game day, but it would be effective if they would let Karty kick his dirty kickoffs and let Mevis kick FGs. I am getting tired of kickoffs going to the 35 now. It might be worth the roster spot if you can pin teams inside the 20 on a regular basis. I know it really affected Philly in that game.

I agree ... but couldn't Josh Karty take Troy Reeder's spot ...

What the league wants is for there to be a real effort made to not have helmet to helmet contact. Unintentional to the league means the defender didn't even give it a thought. That is not acceptable. After having his pocket dipped into it will cross his mind at some point in future action.

Yup, all that is left is stripping them of helmets, strapping on flags and trying to pass it off as “football”.

It would be worth considering Karty for his screwball kick off if we are going to continue to kick for a touch back and give good teams (we are now in the tough part of the schedule) the ball at their 35 every time.....it will hurt the team.

100% ... couldn't the Rams get by without Murchison or Hamilton ... or (Please God ... Please) ... Reeder

Murch has been getting some good snaps and Reeder is a ST guy...Id rather not dress Bennett.
Murchison has 61 snaps in 9 games ... less than 7-per-game but he has played more in recent weeks
Hamilton has 69 snaps in 8 games ... less than 9-per-game

Do the Rams really need both to be Game-Day-Active?

Also consider that Poona Ford is averaging about 30 snaps-per-game; and Tyler Davis 27 snaps-per-game.

On a lot of passing downs, NONE of those guys are on the field. Do the Rams really need all Four active?

I would have thought Murch was playing more. I guess he's had a few more impactful plays that stood out.
Id rather Hamilton get those snaps I guess.

In keeping the core guys fresh, I'd say yes. Especially, with Fiske's oblique and Turner's back.

So, Ford, Davis and, either Murchison or Hamilton, could not each handle an extra 2 or 3 snaps per game?

Because that's all it would be to make up for the 7 or 8 defensive snaps the latter two are averaging.

Sure. But, it would be nice if they could continue to be played to their strengths the majority of the time and be game available in case of injury. Besides, don't some of these guys play special teams, too?

The injury point, I agree with.

2 or 3 extra plays for three different interior D-Lineman, I do not consider meaningful at all.
Especially, if the trade-off is the Rams' opponent starting drives between the 16-24 yard-line vs. the 35.
