I think it depends on how much he would cost. If he came in at the veteran minimum, it might be worthwhile. I'd be more tempted to wait out the draft and see what we have when it wraps up.Will the Rams make a run at LB CJ Mosely from the Jets?
The real win it's not the Rams in the circus anymore. But isn’t it nice that the chatter is not about us at this point? I hope it goes on until he signs late and then tries to recruit some of his former receivers or linemen.
I love the circus as it just means he has someone desperate enough to take on his side show. We just know it won’t be us.
Or do we?
Yeah. Even if they drafted a corner in round one, there is no way to know if he will be able play well enough yo make Williams expendable. There’s no reason to starters that are under contract without knowing for certain that you can adequately replace themNo doubt we need to draft another CB period but Williams is still a starter in this league. Would be insane to cut our DB room experience until we know for sure we got some good ones.
I see where you're coming from...I'll say this.... if cutting D. Will doesn't save us any money, then yeah, we're likely better off keeping him.No doubt we need to draft another CB period but Williams is still a starter in this league. I mean, him in Pitt with those two receivers, I can't wait. But isn’t it nice that the chatter is not about us at this point? I hope it goes on until he signs late and then tries to recruit some of his former receivers or linemen.

I think with a QB of Rogers talent the give-a-fuck will run out before his arm isn't good enough any more. He's still got enough arm.I dunno about Rogers. He clearly is not the MVP caliber Rogers anymore. But I've seen him a few times last year. He's still got some mobility. The arms looks good enough. And he's got a high football IQ for the position. Pittsburgh would seem like the best fit. They always have a winning season but can't go far if they make the playoffs because of the quarterback. They have a couple talented receivers in Pickens and Metcalf. I can see Rogers going out on a winning note if he signs with Pittsburgh.
At this point we've filled needs to such a degree that whoever we draft will likely not start immediately with the exception of LB.Yeah. Agree, and even at CB, not sure there is a huge diff between a CB taken at 26 vs ones available at 90, or earlier in rd 3 if they trade up to target a guy in the 70's.At this point we've filled needs to such a degree that whoever we draft will likely not start immediately with the exception of LB.
Forbes is a huge unknown and frankly scares the shit out of me with his scrawny ass frame. Relying solely on rookies is bad planning. Now if we draft some and we hit to the point where Williams becomes expendable then that's understandable. However I find this scenario completely unlikely since the more CBs we have the better. Besides Williams would make a fine 2/3 CB if we somehow pick some legit CBs in the draft.I see where you're coming from...I'll say this.... if cutting D. Will doesn't save us any money, then yeah, we're likely better off keeping him.
From my perspective though,.... hypothetically..... If we drafted a guy like Darien Porter out of Iowa Stat in the 3rd round.... 6'3... ran a 4.3 40 yd draft.... if your 4 CBs were Witherspoon, Durant, Emmanuel Forbes, and Darien Porter..... Lake plays a lot of CB in coverage for us as well... It might be a stretch, but I wouldn't be mad at that..... Forbes is a much better fit for us than he became in Washington.
just wants to cut the best cover corner we had last yearI see where you're coming from...I'll say this.... if cutting D. Will doesn't save us any money, then yeah, we're likely better off keeping him.

PFF rated Witherspoon slightly above Williams but both were solidly average. Durant was rated in the same territory, too. Nothing special about any of our CBs.just wants to cut the best cover corner we had last year
amazing
We saw this group grow together lastď season Spoon shut down 2 of the best WR’s in the playoffsPFF rated Witherspoon slightly above Williams but both were solidly average. Durant was rated in the same territory, too. Nothing special about any of our CBs.

Some would suggest there is nothing special about PFF.PFF rated Witherspoon slightly above Williams but both were solidly average. Nothing special about any of our CBs.
Yes. Here are the coverage ratings for our secondary:in coverage???
Weird, when I look at PFF Williams is at 61.5 coverage and Spoon is 58.8Yes. Here are the coverage ratings for our secondary:
Curl 63.7
Witherspoon 62.6
Jaylen McCollough 61.6
Durant 61.5
Williams 59.8
Lake 58.4
Note that 60.0 through 70 is average. So all of these guys are pretty much right at league average. It wouldn't be earth-shattering to move off of any one of them because they are all JAGS.
Nah, it's PFF. I figured it out. You are looking at the regular season stats and I was looking at the regular and post-season stats. Either way, there's not much daylight between the numbers.Weird, when I look at PFF Williams is at 61.5 coverage and Spoon is 58.8
Are these from elsewhere?
But agree, they're all JAGS, I would argue that Williams at least is consistent in a way that Spoon is not and because of the variance year to year with all CBs (including top ones) it's worth betting Williams can have a year closer to 2023 where he was a monster vs 2024.
I think you keep him for that alone, though CB is where the wheels can fall off for sure.
Oh that's fascinating and gives some credence to those who say it's an effort issue with Spoon, like he's turning it on and off.Nah, it's PFF. I figured it out. I hear you on Williams being more consistent and year-to-year variance. OTOH, I wouldn't bet that a 32 year old skill position player will trend the other direction. (Spoon is younger; 30 tomorrow.) It's the same reason they traded Kupp. But I'm fine with keeping all of them until the end of TC to let the pecking order sort itself out.
